In last week’s episode of Emmerdale, Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) had a surprise when he began to suspect that his wife Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh) was having strange encounters with Caleb Milligan (William Ash).
When he broke into Caleb’s house, he thought he would find Tracy and Caleb in a sexually suggestive scenario, but instead he discovered Caleb with Ruby, his ex-wife (Beth Cordingly). Additionally, the way they were acting gave the impression that Ruby is not quite as “ex” as Caleb made us think.
We’ve heard Caleb talk about his wife a lot since he moved to the village, especially when he was getting even with Kim Tate (Claire King).
He claimed that he was using his money to ensure Nicky Milligan’s mother’s future, but it was later shown to be untrue, while explaining his actions to Lewis Cope’s character Nicky Milligan.
In future episodes, Ruby becomes more involved in the hamlet as a whole.
“She’s a troublemaker and a firecracker, and I think people will either love her or hate her,” Beth Cordingly said upon the announcement of her casting.
Nicky is overjoyed to have his mother back in the village, and while Caleb pretends otherwise, he is really loving having Ruby around.
Ruby hosts a family lunch since she is excited to get to know Caleb’s family. She extends an invitation to lunch to Nate and Tracy as well, not realising that Caleb and Tracy have a “special” bond. Naturally, Tracy isn’t excited, but Nate convinces her to go.
Ruby starts drinking really early since she’s anxious about coming across well. The event is a huge success and everyone is enjoying her hospitality in spite of her nervousness.
After that, Ruby says something that completely alters the atmosphere of the occasion, and anarchy breaks out very soon.
“[Ruby’s] relationship with Caleb is infused with an intense passion that manifests itself as the ultimate volatile relationship,” producer Kate Brooks told us. It becomes a volatile scenario when Tracy, Caleb’s secret girlfriend, is added.
Will Tracy live to regret accepting Ruby’s invitation to lunch?
