Coronation Street star Matt Milburn confirms ‘no strings sex’ affair for married local

As former football player Tommy Orpington (Matt Milburn) sets his eyes on the feisty florist, Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) may soon be involved in something more after a fortuitous meeting at the flower shop on Coronation Street on Christmas Day.

Painter and decorator Tommy still draws attention when he shows up to decorate No. 1 Coronation Street, even if he has given up on his football career. With the return of the old Weatherfield County hero, Steve (Simon Gregson), Tim (Joe Duttine), Kirk (Andrew Whyment), and Kevin (Michael Le Vell) are ecstatic.

In fact, Steve almost postpones going to see his daughter Emma (Alexandra Mardell) in France so that he may hang out with Tommy Orpington.

However, he does ultimately make the decision to go to France, which makes room for Tommy and Tracy to get attracted to one another. There’s some rivalry since Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) seems to have feelings for Tommy as well, and Tracy might try matching people, according to Mary (Patti Clare).

However, Tracy has no such scheme and instead tells Toyah that Tommy is a horrible womaniser, warning her to back off. She is obviously pretty fond of him.

“Tracy and Tommy have a great chemistry,” Matt Milburn informed us.

I believe he like her feisty demeanour, snappy banter, and rapid retorts. He enjoys being always alert. In some respects, she’s not an easy target. All I can say is that there seems to be a spark between them that none of them anticipated. Perhaps he is more drawn to her since she isn’t on the menu.

We find out that Tommy was just recently divorced, and Matt clarified that this has an impact on his perspective on relationships.

“I believe he feels marginalised in relationships in general,” he said. He doesn’t have any bad sentiments for his ex-wife, but I believe he isn’t persuaded about long-term partnerships in general. Meeting someone like Tracy, who is married, is not the best case, since he had no desire to date and I’m not sure if he’s ready for a relationship.

Matt surmised that Tommy’s guilt—if any—about going for Tracy as soon as Steve turns around is a contributing element, but not a major one.

I feel that he has an anti-long-term relationship viewpoint and thinks monogamy isn’t the best path. Although he loves Steve and isn’t trying to harm anybody, he does feel terrible, but the guilt isn’t keeping him from living his life to the fullest.

“I guess he doesn’t bear the majority of the guilt because he’s not the married one.”

What about his plans with Tracy, too?

Matt stressed, “It’s 100% fun with no strings attached.” “At this point, that is his sole perspective on women.”

Matt acknowledged that, despite the escalating tensions with Tracy, he was also excited to be collaborating with Tracy’s coworker Mary Taylor from the flower business.

“My mum’s favourite character is Mary, so when I realised I would be working with her, I was really excited!” he said.
