Coronation Street spoilers: Simon Barlow’s car crash horror in dramatic exit storyline

Next week on Coronation Street, Simon Barlow (Alex Bain) will continue his problematic conduct, putting both his and Sam Blakeman’s (Jude Riordan) lives in jeopardy.

After Peter’s (Chris Gascoyne) departure, Simon has been experiencing some confusion. Although he was working shifts at Underworld, he found it far more enjoyable to drink at bars with his pals.

Simon has developed the bad habit of getting overly wasted and then being really hungover the following day.

The next week, Nick (Ben Price) sends Simon straight home from the Bistro after realising how bad he is.

Afterwards, when Leanne (Jane Danson) discovers that Simon is suffering from a hangover, she covers for Nick. She advises the troubled youngster to take the day off, but she can’t help but worry that he may have begun drinking too much.

Simon finds himself awake on the couch with a severe headache after a house party attended by the likes of Bobby (Jack Carroll) and Lauren (Cait Fitton).

While Bobby is emptying the empties, Simon stealthily takes a sip of vodka.

When Nick gets home, he tells Georgia Taylor’s character Toyah that he needs her assistance with shopping and asks Simon to take Sam to his chess match instead.

But as soon as they take off, Simon smashes into a road sign on a curve after losing control of the vehicle.

Simon, in a panic, advises Sam to get out of the vehicle and to flee.

Once they get home, a remorseful Simon tells Leanne that he stole her automobile, but he refuses to call the police and claims he drove the car above the limit.

While Leanne is appalled, what does this mean for Simon?

How will Simon’s departure from the cobbles be affected by this event as he ruins his connections with his family?

Alex Bain said, “He’s a broken person.”

He doesn’t seem to be a bad guy. He’s not the kind of guy who exudes confidence; while he may give the impression, he lacks it. I believe that he is really a damaged person who has endured a great deal, from losing his mother at a young age to now having his father abandon him. He also doesn’t really have anybody properly watching out for him.

He’s searching for someone to look after him. He has never had someone who is his person and prioritises him above anything else.

“I believe that all he wants is for someone to be there for him to be himself.”
