Coronation Street casts Peaky Blinders’ Ian Peck for Harvey storyline

He’ll guest star as John Perry.

Peaky Blinders star Ian Peck has been hired on Coronation Street.

According to Digital Spy, Peck will be making a brief appearance on the ITV soap opera. He made appearances in all six seasons of Peaky Blinders as Curly, a goon for the Shelby clan.

The Sun claims that Peck is joining the cast as John Perry, a figure who owes a favour to Will Mellor’s convicted murderer Harvey Gaskell.

Scenes between Harvey and attorney Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) are set to premiere shortly. They devise a scheme to have the former released from jail. Later on, John, who is dying, consents to admit to killing Natasha Blakeman.

Peck will be returning to Weatherfield soon. He has previously made cameos on the serial opera as Lindworth, a prison guard who first showed up in 2009 when Fiz went to see her lover John, who was incarcerated.

He made an appearance as the menacing thug Denton in 2015, who demanded money from Callum Logan.

Among Peck’s other noteworthy roles are those in Endeavour, Silent Witness, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, and His Dark Materials.

The plan hatched by Harvey and Adam first appears in the episodes that air next week. Adam will go back to the jail to finalise the specifics of the appeal, having earlier negotiated a deal for Harvey to get rid of Damon Hay in exchange for a court appeal.

Harvey seems to have little hope of succeeding unless he can find someone else to blame for Natasha’s death. Fortunately, Weatherfield General patient John is eager to assist them.
