According to previews for Coronation Street, Roy Cropper will be in peril the following week when two sketchy guys lock him in the café after he is arrested on charges of killing Lauren Bolton.
On Coronation Street next week, Roy Cropper is in danger.
An online detective watches as Roy informs Yasmeen Metcalfe (Shelley King) and Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) at the café that he has been requested to return to the police station to be examined over the disappearance of Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton).
Max Turner (Paddy Beaver) decides to pay Reece Bolton (Scott Anson) a covert visit in prison after hearing David (Jack P Shepherd) and Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) speculate whether Lauren’s dad’s far-right group could be involved. He tells Reece how Roy is wrongly suspected of Lauren’s murder when all he did was clean the flat for her.
Subsequently, Roy is alone himself at the café, except for two suspicious individuals seated at a table. Roy knows he’s in danger when one of them gets up and locks the door. Later in the week, Nina is horrified to learn that some amateur investigators have been excavating the bat roost site in an attempt to uncover information that might implicate Roy in Lauren’s death.
To make sure everything is okay, Roy packs shovels and bin bags into the boot of his vehicle and drives to the roost site. However, Victoria Myers’s DS Lisa Swain is waiting for him to take him to the station when he gets back. Have Roy’s issues increased after his visit to the roost site? For Lauren’s vigil in the precinct, Nina, Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey), Bobby Crawford (Jack Carroll), Evelyn Plummer (Maxine Plummer), Carla Connor (Alison King), Roy, and Max get together.
However, other boys heckle Roy and record him on their phones as be talks to the audience, praising Lauren and how much she meant to him. What will Roy’s response be? Roy is urged by Evelyn, Carla, and Nina to remain quiet until the authorities ascertain Lauren’s true killer. Roy doesn’t waver. Nina confides in Carla later at the café about her concerns about Roy.
When Evelyn reads an internet article characterising Lauren as a sex worker, she is shocked. Roy is clear that he is not interested in the specifics. After reading the story on Lauren’s sex business, Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) tells Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) that it reminds her of some terrible experiences. When Cassie discovers Evelyn and Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) chatting about Lauren in the store, she becomes enraged. Tyrone tells Fiz Dobbs (Jennie McAlpine) and Evelyn that Cassie previously had to turn to sex work, and they are shocked. Does Tyrone, however, know the whole story?
