Emmerdale spoilers: Charity Dingle slams ‘psycho and narcissist’ lovers in blistering rant

Charity finally attended therapy (Picture: ITV)

In poignant moments from Emmerdale on Monday, March 11, Charity Dingle had her first therapy session, and things did not go well.

After suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder for weeks following his Christmas murder of criminal Damon “Harry” Harris (Robert Beck), the adored character has finally sought assistance. Even though Charity’s efforts spared Mackenzie’s (Lawrence Robb) life, she still feels guilty for taking a life. She has also been plagued by hallucinations of Harry, insomnia, panic attacks, and worry.

The result of this was that she stabbed Mackenzie because she mistook him for Harry.

At the start of the therapy session, Charity put up all of her typical defenses in an attempt to use sarcasm to divert the attention of her therapist, Una (Rekha John-Cheriyan).

“Una is bombing,” was how she put it when she tried to kill time by going to the lavatory, discussing the last scenes of Titanic, and doing anything else to avoid talking about herself.

The turning point came when Una inquired about any childhood pets she may have had. An tragic yet ultimately truthful story began to emerge. When Charity was younger, she had a puppy named Shaky (because she liked Shakin’ Stevens and he was shaky). She would sneak him into her room since she liked him so much.

Charity has been dreading this day (Picture: ITV).

She asked her dad to take him to the vet when he had a painful paw, and eventually he said he would take the dog, but he never returned. Charity claimed the puppy was most likely dumped by her dad.

She remarked, “I loved the bones of that scabby dog.” “My dad engaged in such activities.”

Emma Atkins informed us that Charity’s memory is the key that begins to open doors. The adventure begins at that point when she immediately returns to the dog and notices how the dog has vanished out of the picture. Furthermore, why does the dog vanish? Yes, due to the father. Why is the dog being taken away by the father? Things began to fall apart since she had problems with her father.

Because, despite everything she’s going through right now, I believe her background has a great deal of PTSD tied to it as well. So, I suppose everything is relevant.

During the therapy session, Charity opened up about how she was forced to give up her baby, Debbie, after being kicked out of the family due to her pregnancy, but that she now has a nice relationship with her. then on how, at the age of 13, she managed to survive as a child prostitute—a “terrified, abused, exploited kid.” And how she got married to Mark Bails, the “twisted sicko,” and had Ryan (James Moore), a son.

Charity acknowledged that she had made mistakes in her life, such as selling her son, and that she naturally issues with viewing herself as a victim. She said, “And now I’ve killed someone and almost killed my husband.”

Charity expressed her fear of hurting Mack once more and added, “I’ve ruined it. He’s the only guy who’s loved her back and isn’t a psycho, narcissist, or waster.”

Charity has been married four times and had numerous prior relationships. Her attempt was to be the fall guy for Peter Amory’s character, Chris Tate. Declan Macey (Jason Merrells) attempted to kill her after Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) betrayed her. Her poisonous connection with her cousin Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) was another.

Emma Atkins emphasized how important this is to Charity. It’s a beautiful episode to talk about how much she genuinely loves Mack, the first person she thinks she’s started to truly open up to and let her guard down for. She stated, “And this person is perfect for her, and she feels like she’s ruined it and lost his trust.”

Una informed Charity that she was just beginning what would be a drawn-out process, and she left the session disappointed that nothing had been resolved. However, she counseled Charity to accept any assistance that those who cared for her would provide.

Mackenzie offered his assistance in any manner he could, prepared to do just that. He began by giving her a bath, but as he was doing it, Charity grew too emotional to handle everything the day had brought up and fled the house.

Is there hope for their future together, and will she ever be able to accept her husband’s assistance?

“They can overcome anything if they can get through this,” stated Emma Atkins.
