The show’s Sally Fletcher, played by actress Kate Ritchie from 1988 until 2008, posted a humorous video compilation created by a Home and Away fan account.
For a record-breaking two decades, Kate Ritchie portrayed Sally Fletcher on Home and Away.
The Australian celebrity starred in the pilot episode in January 1988 and remained a key role until April 2008. After then, she made a brief comeback in 2013 for a unique story arc before leaving again.
Kate called the show “tragic” after sharing a number of really old episode excerpts on Instagram.
Her character Sally experiences frequent rejection in the scenes when she requests to go places with other characters and is ordered to shut up.
Kate wrote: “Sally is really sad. Really? Indeed, that does explain a few things.”
She sent a shout-out to the page “@homeandaway” that was included in the compilation.The early years never stop them. You make us nostalgic HomeandAwayers laugh so hard.”
Kate has been a part of one of Sydney’s most popular radio shows, Nova’s Kate, Tim & Joel, since her time in Summer Bay. She just announced that she will be taking a break from the show.
She also just revealed that she will be making her eagerly anticipated acting comeback.
The upcoming two-part television series The Claremont Murders is scheduled to feature her.
Kate acknowledged her love for motherhood and her belief that it is her true calling in life in an interview with The Australian Women’s Weekly.
During an interview with Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies on The Morning Show in 2015, the former cast member of Home and Away spoke about her daughter: “I think she’s divine, she’s the greatest achievement I’ve ever had and she’s wonderful.”
Rugby player Stuart Webb, with whom Kate started dating in 2008, welcomed their daughter into the world.
