‘General Hospital’ Star Robyn Bernard Found Dead in Open Field Aged 64

**Actress Robyn Bernard, who starred in 145 episodes of the soap opera *General Hospital* in the 1980s, has died. She was 64.**

The actress’s body was discovered early on Tuesday morning in a field behind a business in San Jacinto, California, according to the Riverside County Coroner’s Office.

Investigative work is ongoing by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, as the cause of death was not immediately known.

After a call to the police for a death inquiry, Bernard was identified by the coroner’s office using her fingerprints, according to TMZ.

According to the publication, an autopsy was set for this Wednesday, but toxicology results might not be available for many weeks.

There has allegedly been no suspicion of foul play.

As noted by The Hollywood Reporter Gladewater, Texas was the place of Bernard’s birth on May 26, 1959. She is the elder sister of Wings actor Crystal Bernard. In 1981, she was cast in her first acting role in Diva.

Her breakthrough performance occurred in 1984 when she was chosen for the ABC serial drama General Hospital’s Terry Brock role.

According to the site, she appeared in 145 episodes as the evil D.L. Brock’s daughter, played by David Groh, before leaving the show in 1990. Terry’s drinking issues on the show ultimately hindered her character’s ability to pursue a career in music.

In addition, Bernard has acted in films like Betty Blue (1986), Roselyne and the Lions (1989), and Kings for a Day (1997), as well as TV series including Simon & Simon, Whiz Kids, The Facts of Life, Tour of Duty, and Maigret.

She portrayed a psychotherapist in Voices From the High School (2002), her final on-screen role.

Jerry Wayne Bernard, Bernard’s father, and her two sisters, Crystal and Scarlett, survive her.
