Emmerdale fans call out major blunder as Chas Dingle undergoes double mastectomy

Watchers of Emmerdale on Thursday saw Chas Dingle decide to undergo a double mastectomy after learning she had cancer.

When it was later discovered that Chas Dingle (played by Lucy Pargeter) in Emmerdale had a defective BRCA2 gene, she was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer earlier this year. On Thursday night, ITV viewers watched as Chas went into surgery after deciding to have a double mastectomy.

Chas was clearly anxious before to being led into the theater, but her son Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) kindly held her hand and assured her she would be alright. But astute observers soon saw, there was nude nail paint on her finger.

“I know it’s small details and trivial, but Chas is about to have a major operation, and her nails are painted. I thought they had to be clear to keep an eye on oxygen levels,” tweeted @Dbella91.

Concurring, “They do,” @Music751 retorted. There, the writers have fallen short. @BlondeMzungu posted a tweet asking, “Why is Chas still wearing nail polish? Anyone undergoing general anesthesia at a theater would have it removed!

“Did they give Chas a premed before taking her to the theater?” inquired @Chris1968E. Some fans, on the other hand, were heartbroken by the scenes and were afraid for her future.

Feared by @GeorgiaBowring: “#Emmerdale I believe that in this plot, Chas will die!

Additionally, @Winis_World said, “Poor Chas. I’m hoping the surgery goes well.

Watchers were able to hear the physicians revealing to Chas that the malignant tumor was located in her right breast prior to her surgery throughout the program.

The surgeon was unable to provide Aaron with a definitive answer when he asked if this procedure would eradicate the cancer permanently.

“That’s the plan; it’s a stage 1 tumor that we anticipate being localized,” she retorted.

“A complete histopathology report will be available in approximately a week. None of the tests to date indicate that the cancer cells have spread.”

She asked the surgeons to try to make the scars as neat as possible before she had surgery.

“I know it’s not important, I should just be grateful,” Chas remarked.

Speaking about the terrifying plot, soap opera star Lucy Pargeter told MyWeekly Magazine that the show’s viewers have shown her a great deal of support.

“People have watched Chas for years,” the speaker stated.

It’s been pleasant to have messages from people reaching out to me on X (Twitter), stating that they experienced the same emotions as she did upon receiving their diagnosis after viewing the plot.

“It’s critical that people don’t experience isolation.”
