Kerry Wyatt’s (Laura Norton) abrupt return to Emmerdale is a mystery that keeps getting bigger.

To put it mildly, Kerry’s unexpected visit has been perplexing, and not just because she arrived home wearing full Cher garb while being towed by PC (Mike!). However, there is also the lingering issue of “why now.”

After being expelled from her cruise ship on suspicion of stealing, she made her way back to the village.

She said that Malcolm the stalker, her fiancé, had falsely implicated her, but when she took off her Cher wig, it became clear that she was actually the one who committed the crime. Amy (Natalie Ann Jamieson) is unaware of this as of yet.

Kerry’s story is even more complex than it first appears.

“I think she’s just gone somewhere where she can reset as Kerry and be the best version of herself where she’s not got a past and baggage around her,” actress Laura said to Metro.co.uk when asked why the actress had left.

Unfortunately, it appears that Kerry has steadfastly adhered to her former habits and was never meant for a reset.

However, I can tell that she’s simply in the mindset where she will continue to make poor decisions, Laura continued. I just have a feeling that there will be a few mistakes. Maybe?

Kerry skillfully played on Amy’s need for maternal tenderness to win her over, even though Amy at first doubted her mother’s professed innocence.

Kerry also appears to think that whatever it was she was fleeing from is now securely behind her.

However, it isn’t; it followed her home. Kerry gets a call from one of several unknown numbers while the locals participate in the Woolpack quiz. Her face is marked with stress.

It’s obvious that someone is after her. Could it be her enraged fiancé Malcolm, who is seeking retribution? Is Kerry involved in something much more sinister?
