Coronation Street stars with famous families – reality icon to Bridgerton link

The Daily Star reports that although Coronation Street is a legendary soap opera in and of itself, producing a number of iconic stars, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Many former Coronation Street actors have gone on to become well-known figures, making it a reputable platform for launching a career.

Several big stars in the British acting profession have gotten their start in the business thanks to the ITV soap opera, including Sarah Lancashire, Sally Lindsay, and Maureen Lipman, to mention a few. As they learn to live with having a famous relative, it also catapults the actor into the spotlight, as does their family off-screen.

However, some people accept it, while others, perhaps because of their talent in performing, presenting, or singing, choose to go into the spotlight and establish a well-known family. On the other hand, some become so famous that they surpass their original Corrie star.

Therefore, Daily Star examines some of the cast members who have well-known relatives as Coronation Street continues to welcome new characters.

Dean and Kai Fagan

Dean Fagan starred in the popular ITV soap opera from 2014 till 2018. On the program, he portrayed mechanic Luke Britton. He was a part of several major plots that led to the ultimate demise of ultra-baddy Pat Phelan.

After his time on the cobbles, he went on to have an impressive acting career on both sides of the Irish Sea, but he recently found out he has another claim to fame. On the winter 2023 episode of the show, it was revealed that Dean was the cousin of Kai Fagan, a popular star on Love Island.

Mancunian Kai and Sanam Harrinanan would go on to win the show in the end, defeating heavy favorites Ron Hall and Lana Jenkins for second place. The relationship between the former science and PE teacher and Sanam is just getting better. He quit his job to become an influencer to around 400k followers.

Luca and Mike Toolan

Playing the menacing bully Mason Radcliffe, new boy Luca Toolan has been causing problems for Weatherfield’s residents. Mason, who joined the cast the previous year, has been gradually enlisting Dylan to terrorize and ruin the lives of anybody who cross him.

Away from the cameras, though, Luca is a good man who finds it difficult to watch the show with his family. His well-known father Mike Toolan, a DJ for the commercial station Hits Radio, is partially to blame for this. When his son made his television debut, he beamingly expressed how “so proud” he was of his son’s casting.

A mainstay among the station’s DJs, Toolan cohosts the drivetime show on weekdays at 4 p.m. with Gemma Atkinson, the former Hollyoaks star. However, since Gemma is currently on maternity leave, her close friend Brooke Vincent, who portrayed Sophie Webster on the serial opera, is covering for her.

Sally and Phoebe Dynevor

Playing Sally Webster, Sally Dynevor has been one of the soap opera’s longest-serving actors in recent years. She has experienced several heartbreaking plots on the show, such as actual cancer struggles, coercive control, and wrongful incarceration.

The mother of three is excited to be a part of the show, though, and it has obviously encouraged her daughter Phoebe to pursue acting and gain recognition for her early skill. Phoebe’s first big break came from her critically acclaimed performance as the protagonist character Daphne in the Netflix hit series Bridgeton.

Since then, Phoebe’s career has taken off, as seen by her appearances in several new movies, such as the 2023 Bank of Dave movie and two upcoming movies this year.
