Following a terrifying fall, Denise Black, who portrayed Denise Osbourne on Coronation Street, broke both her arm and foot and was taken to the hospital.
Renowned Emmerdale and Coronation Street actress Denise Black injured her foot and arm after taking a horrible fall. After the terrifying fall, the 65-year-old actress—best known for playing Denise Osbourne, Ken Barlow’s partner—needed emergency medical attention.
She shared how it happened and maintained her upbeat attitude despite her sore injuries. During the collision, a large object fell on her foot, breaking some bones.
She shared her experience on social media, saying, “I can tell you that now that I’m healing. My arm became goofy.
“I dropped what I was holding as I fell, breaking my foot. Familiar with Hoffnung’s Bricklayers joke? Look it up on Google. That joke is me.”
She made fun of Hoffnung’s joke about the Bricklayers, as if she were the joke’s embodiment. The appreciative actress said, “Huge shout out to doctors and nurses far and wide, very especially our beloved NHS,” in response to the NHS’s care.
“You present people as GOOD beings. Good news: I’m still in the video. Better still, I’m getting better.”
Denise continued, reassuring her admirers that she is still filming and becoming better: “Yeah, I might be more wonky than I was, but really, aren’t all the best people? #embraceyourwonkiness #thankyounhs #inside and out.”
While fans were relieved by Denise’s good update, they were still concerned for the actress. “And you’re still smiling,” a fan remarked. What a brave one. I hope you get well soon.”
Another person said, “Oh no! I hope you heal miraculously quickly.” “Oh Denise!” exclaimed a third admirer. You are a disaster. God bless you. I hope you get well soon. Many thanks.
Denise announced to her fans in 2020 that the NHS was funding her hip replacement operation.
“You might notice a discrete walking stick in that pic outside TV Center in my last post?” she wrote on her website. Good news: it’s no longer there.
“I’m now officially bionic—I have two new hips. I’ve put aside my stick, and I feel like a child once more. I had planned to celebrate by getting a new haircut. How do you think?
“Can I just say a big thank you and hats off to our mighty NHS, you people are just the tops,” she said, adding further gratitude to the NHS. I’m really grateful to you. Considering you all during this terrible flu pandemic. Even though I’m a restless patient (is that even a word?), you guys manage my pain.”
Since her 1992–2017 tenure on Coronation Street, Denise has gained notoriety and has acted in numerous different productions.
