Coronation Street star confirms he is back on the show but not for long

In advance of his impending departure from Coronation Street, actor Alex Bain has stated that he is filming new scenes for the program.

In the coming months, the actor—who has been most recognized since 2008 for playing Simon Barlow—will be bowing out of the cobbles.

He has been a part of several high-profile stories during his tenure on the show, such as being physically abused by his adoptive mother Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson), being trapped in a burning apartment while his father Peter (Chris Gascoyne) slept on the sofa, and later being groomed into drug dealing by Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor).

More recently, he overindulged in alcohol and, in unsettling sequences, crashed his automobile while driving over the limit, endangering Sam Blakeman, his younger “brother” (Jude Riordan).

Alex posted a photo of the 7.7-acre production location for the show in Trafford, Greater Manchester, on Instagram yesterday, March 18.

Moving from the old Granada Studios, Corrie has been based on the other side of Salford Quays for the past ten years.

He accompanied the photo, which features the building’s enormous metallic emblem, with the words, “Guess who’s back home?”

It’s unclear if this indicates he’s finished filming and is making a quick trip back, or if he’s simply visiting the studios to clean his desk.

As Simon and Leanne become involved in “The Institute,” a hazardous cult disguising itself as a self-help group at the Chariot Square Hotel, it is anticipated that his departure will unfold during the course of the spring.

After being banned from driving after drinking, he was taken by his mother to the seminars he attended for the first time in last week’s programs.

The professor Rowan (Emrhys Cooper) immediately won the two over with his charming remarks, which he took great satisfaction in.

The ITV series has previously explored cult themes; in 1998, Joanne Froggatt’s character Zoe Tattersall was introduced to the Etheric Foundation, a group of people who sold crystals and worshipped their leader Nirab, a playful parody of then-current producer Brian Park.
