Emmerdale Ruby actress issued warning from soap star partner before joining ITV show

Exclusive: Beth Cordingly, who made her Ruby Milligan debut in January, disclosed what her former Emmerdale star partner Ian Kelsey told her before to her joining the serial opera.

Before joining the soap opera, Beth Cordingly was cautioned about some things by her former spouse, an Emmerdale star.

In January, the actress debuted in the role of Ruby Milligan. She made her debut as Nicky Milligan’s (Lewis Cope) mother and the estranged wife of Caleb Milligan (Will Ash).

Off-screen, Ian Kelsey and Beth, 47, have been together since 2021. From 1994 till 1997, the 57-year-old played Dave Glover in the ITV serial opera.

However, the couple divorced and married other people after meeting about 20 years ago. They started dating in 2021 after they crossed paths once more.

The actress shared the advice Ian provided her after finding out she got the role in an exclusive interview with Daily Star and other media. “He told me not to bump into the furniture, which I do regularly,” she said with a grin. In a recent interview with The Mirror, Beth talked candidly about her relationship with Ian.

The serial actress told the magazine, “I am very happy and very in love with Ian.” “I believe that his acting career is actually working for him. He has been amazing.”

“Ian was really supportive and wanted me to do it, which is lovely,” the Bill star continued. As an actress, there’s that thing where you’re never really at home. Yet he fully understands it.”

While acknowledging that Ian is “very supportive” of her employment, Beth clarified that he knows what it’s like to work on a soap opera and is curious about the work experience. The actor commented: “He knows a lot of the crew and cast and so it’s lovely to be able to share what I’ve been up to, knowing he understands.”

Beth continued, saying, “He always wants to know how each day of filming is going, so that’s important when you are away.” We both give each other a lot of support for our work, which is crucial in this cutthroat field.”
