Coronation Street spoilers: Horrific armed robbery as teen quits Weatherfield

Terror, agony and romance in a varied Corrie week (Picture: ITV)

The week in Weatherfield is going to end in horror as the current episodes bring intense drama, even though love seems to be in the air on Coronation Street—and romance fails, to be fair.

After his marriage ended, Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) is looking for love. He experiences a setback when Ken Barlow (William Roache) steals the show when the odd couple goes on the pull together.

Later on, it appears as though he and Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) might be falling in love, but is the unfortunate cab driver expecting too much?

Even though the Rovers date night is a huge success, Glenda Shuttleworth’s (Jodie Prenger) happiness is short-lived as she becomes the target of an after-hours brutal robbery.

Paul Foreman (Peter Ash), meanwhile, is depressed since he is experiencing progressively severe symptoms and must come to terms with the reality that he is unable to consume solid meals.

And when the family said a heartfelt goodbye to Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby), emotions were still running high.

Harry gives Damon a hug and praises him for his VR headset. Once more, Damon regrets that he was unable to attend Harry’s birthday celebration.

Sarah discovers that Ed has been lying to her when she asks him about the work he is doing for Damon.

In celebration, Summer arranges for a flight to Boston, and Billy offers to prepare a roast dinner while Bernie drives Paul to his speech therapy appointment.

Paul is having difficulty maintaining composure (Image: ITV).

Paul’s speech and ability to eat solid food have declined, the therapist verifies, and she recommends that it may be time to utilize a feeding tube. When Paul and Bernie go home, they inform him that he has to give up solid meals because he is afraid he would choke.

Billy and Summer are reassured by Paul that if they puree his food, he would recover well. Todd, Bernie, Billy, and Summer get into their roast supper, as Paul works on his bowl of puréed food.

Paul fights back the tears as Todd, Bernie, Billy, and Summer clean away the plates.

When Nina gets to the café, she finds a pan on the burner that is smoldering. Roy promises her that he won’t do it again after realizing that he must have been sleep walking once more.

Roy assures Dee-Dee that he will pay any price to have his reputation cleared. Nina confides in Dee-Dee that she is concerned about Roy’s sleepwalking and is wondering how he can ever afford for his legal representation should the matter go to trial.

As the situation grows increasingly alarming, Roy makes a vow. (Image: ITV)

After preparing Cassie’s lunch, Evelyn offers to buy her a drink. Cassie is perplexed. Evelyn and Cassie toast and decide to move on from their past in the Rovers.

Jenny informs Daisy and Glenda about her plans for a speed-dating evening in the Rovers. While Daisy grates her teeth in a smile, Glenda thinks it’s a great idea.

Wednesday March 27

When Christina texts to say she’s coming to visit for two weeks, Jenny and Daisy are shocked. When Ryan witnesses Daisy telling her mother that she is not welcome and advising that she see her friend in Amsterdam, he is taken aback.

Christina tells the Rovers that she has nowhere to stay and that her passport has expired.

Christina is curious when Ryan says she should stay and have a drink because it’s the least they can do after she gave them so much money to buy the pub.

Steve complains to David in the café that no one has expressed interest in his dating profile. Debbie advises that if he wants to meet someone, he should go to the Chariot Square for cocktail night. When Steve gets home, he finds Ken attempting on various jackets.

Steve attempts to look happy as Ken says he’s going to join him for cocktail night at the Chariot Square.

Debbie shows up to Ken and Steve with drinks in hand, pointing to Elspeth, the elderly woman in the corner, who she says she bought and who has been eyeing Ken all night. Steve finds it hard to believe that Ken has pulled.

Joseph, Chesney, and Gemma left for the Oakhill entrance exam. Summer leaves for Boston with an emotional farewell from Todd, Billy, and Paul.

Friday March 29

As Jenny leaves for an elegant dinner with Rita and Daisy departs with Ryan, Glenda, looking glamorous, consents to organize the speed dating event at the Rovers.

The only romantic aspect of the evening is Christina’s crush on a tattooed gentleman. After the night’s commotion has passed and the pub has closed, Glenda enters the bar to discover masked robbers robbing the cash register.

Glenda is told to get on the ground by one of the men. Glenda, terrified, follows instructions. Glenda phones the police in a state of terror and tears as the bandits flee with the loot. When Jenny gets home, Glenda informs her that they have been broken into.

Jenny insistence that Glenda take the morning off makes her put on a brave façade. Billy and Paul give the Rovers a call in order to get Paul’s laptop back. When they learn that the burglars took it, they are devastated. Glenda is inconsolable.

Glenda offers Jenny and Daisy a nightcap since the pub is closed, but as she makes her way to the bar, she remembers the terrible things that happened the night before, and it’s obvious that they’re wearing them down.

Steve makes the decision to mount again and heads to the Rovers for the speed dating event. When Steve finds himself seated across from Tracy during the speed dating event, he is not impressed, but on the subsequent move, he clicks with Cassie.

After the speed dating, Steve recommends to Cassie that they get together once more. For Steve, are things getting better?

Dawn, the Oakhill admissions officer, calls Chesney to let him know that Joseph passed the test and that she will be visiting him tomorrow for an interview.

Joseph’s interview was ready to begin, so Gemma and Chesney got to work cleaning the house.

Paul uses his laptop to play back some of his pre-recorded messages while he is in the flower shop apartment. Billy believes that more work needs to be done. Sarah asks Adam, who works at the corner shop, if they may postpone the sale of the apartment for the time being.

Adam tells her there’s no rush, but Sarah tells him it’s too soon and rushes out when he hesitantly says it would be wonderful if they could be friends again.
