Emmerdale family torn apart by Ruby Fox-Milligan’s unhealthy ‘obsession’

EXCLUSIVE: Ruby Fox-Milligan of Emmerdale has been causing a stir since making her Yorkshire Dales debut earlier this year.

In a few scenes, Ruby Fox-Milligan (played by Beth Cordingly) will have the power to destroy the Dingle family because of her “obsession” with her husband, Caleb Milligan (Will Ash). When Ruby unexpectedly appeared in the village earlier this year as Caleb’s enigmatic wife, she startled ITV viewers.

Ruby was furious to learn that Caleb had been having a passionate relationship with Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh) for several months. Since making his Emmerdale debut in 2022, he has also had affairs with Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) and Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi).

Many of the villagers have already grown distant from Ruby, including Tracy, who was shocked to learn of her affair at Belle Dingle’s (Eden Taylor Draper) and Tom King’s (James Chase) Valentine’s Day wedding. During the wedding reception, Ruby confessed their adultery, leaving everyone shocked and nearly ruining Belle and Tom’s special day.

Since then, Ruby and Caleb have been at odds, and it’s obvious that she wants to keep him apart from the other Dingles. Ruby’s son Nicky Milligan (Lewis Cope) seems to be her lone ally, but will he turn against his mother once he realizes how cold-blooded and cunning she is?

Is she going to use the Dingles as leverage to keep Caleb all to herself? Ruby’s actress, Beth, talked candidly to Express.co.uk recently about her character’s “obsession” with Caleb when they initially started dating as teenagers.

“Kim Tates tells her, ‘You don’t just love Caleb, you’re obsessed with him,'” said Beth.

Beth continued, “She’s giving up everything for him in her.” She abandoned her family for him, in her opinion.

“Since she was sort of 16/17, he and Nicky have been her whole world, and she doesn’t appear to have any friends.”

The 47-year-old actress, who starred in The Bill before, claimed that the only explanation for Ruby’s actions is that she “sees the Dingles as a threat” since she is “terrified of losing” Caleb.

Consequently, Beth continued, “she takes to criticizing people and striking out against them which is obviously not going to help… instead of being clever about it and the friending them. In particular, the Dingles.”

She acknowledged that Ruby’s upbringing has given her a “very childish way of approaching” obstacles in life.

“Ruby didn’t learn that sophistication,” Beth clarified. “I think she’s kind of stuck in that teenage thinking of having a family that turned their back on her.” She has never learnt, too.”
