After Dean Wicks made a number of mistakes in the hospital on Thursday, Jean Slater noticed his suspicious conduct, and it seems like his demise on EastEnders is imminent.
There seems to be a foreshadowing of Dean Wicks’ demise on the BBC One serial opera EastEnders.
Fans of the soap opera will remember that Dean recently got back in touch with his daughter Jade, who battled cystic fibrosis and had a life-saving lung transplant procedure. Jade had just lately been fighting remorse while trying to get over her father’s disapproval and inform him that she and her mother Shabnam were leaving to Pakistan.
Jade ultimately found comfort in Jean Slater, and the two had a heart-to-heart discussion regarding the child’s situation. Jean accompanied Jade to Beales Eels, where Jade informed her disappointed father that she and Shabnam were be relocating to Pakistan.
Jade clarified: “Mum’s flown out to Pakistan because Nani Zainab’s not well… she’s moving out there and she wants me to go, too.” As anticipated, Dean was devastated by the news and met with his attorney to try to prevent her from going. But his attorney delivered the bad news Dean didn’t want to hear, pointing out that there are “no grounds” to keep Jade in Walford if her health is stable.
Jade had been coughing lately, so she returned to the doctor later and was given medicines for a chest infection. In a twisted turn of events, Dean informed Jade he would put her antibiotics in her pillbox along with her other medications and ordered her to bed to relax. But when Dean was alone himself, he tampered with the antibiotics in a dark attempt to keep Jade around.
The problem has only become worse this week as Albert Square united to support Jade’s fundraiser. On Wednesday night, Dean was able to manoeuvre the situation to get entry to the event even though he was prohibited from attending since it was being held at the Queen Vic.
Jade attempted to emotionally blackmail Dean into remaining at the event, but they got into an argument over her intentions to go to Pakistan. But Jade snapped, saying, “I’m going to Pakistan! Nothing will be able to stop me from moving in with my mother.”
Enraged at the idea of his daughter going, wicked Dean committed yet another terrible act by disconnecting Jade’s oxygen tank, putting the child in grave danger. Soon after Jade began having respiratory difficulties, everyone in the Queen Vic agreed that Dean should go since Linda Carter was uncomfortable with his presence.
Jade proceeded to give a speech at her fundraiser as Dean waited outside, but she had trouble breathing and passed out suddenly. After that, Dean sprinted inside the bar and yelled, “What have you done?” as an ambulance was being sent.
Jade’s doctor said on Thursday night that he was worried about Jade’s chest infection not getting better even with medication while Jade was recuperating in the hospital. Jean became worried when Dean became defensive right away and asked the doctor if he was making any accusations against him.
Dean calmed down when the doctor told him he needed to see her antibiotics to make sure the dosage was correct, and Jean consented to get them. Dean came back, grabbed the modified pill box, and handed the doctor the medicines that hadn’t been opened.
Jean became suspicious when she wondered how Jade’s oxygen tank had come free, why the medicines weren’t working, and why Dean seemed to be blaming him for his daughter’s hospitalisation. Dean tried to intimidate Jean, but she retaliated by saying, “I fear your daughter is at danger. I must locate a physician.”
Dean quickly drew Jean away, promising to tell her everything, but he later told another falsehood, claiming Jade had tampered with her medication in order to remain in Albert Square. Fans feel Jean is still sceptical and will be the one to expose Dean, even if it seemed like she believed him.
Using Twitter, people are now expressing their opinions on X. Some said, “Listen Jean is so smart, she’s clocked onto Dean’s nonsense #EastEnders,” while another remarked, “For the bad things you didn’t do?” Dean #EastEnders clocked Jean.”
A few more commented, “I really hope Jean is recording this convo with Dean #EastEnders!” and “Anyone with common sense can see Dean is too defensive and he has been messing with this child’s antibiotics #Eastenders.”
