Coronation Street legend was ‘genuinely scared’ filming upcoming violent stunts

Jodie Prenger opened up about her concerns during filming sequences on Coronation Street in which masked burglars threaten Glenda Shuttleworth.

The rowdy bartender is about to receive a severe shock after attending a speed-dating event at the Rovers Return.

Two years ago, Glenda, who is bright and bubbly, exploded onto the scene in Weatherfield to live with her brother, George, the funeral director (Tony Maudsley).

She brought some brightness to the Rovers Return pub after working for several years as a cruise ship entertainer. She also started using her skills as manager of her own performing arts school at the community center.

But she may have her greatest and most memorable scenes yet in the ITV serial opera.

Glenda ends the evening by going to bed after organizing a speed dating event at the bar while Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews) and Daisy (Charlotte Jordan) are out, and successfully matching Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins) with a new beau.

She hears a disturbance in the pub and walks downstairs in the middle of the night to see masked intruders robbing the cash register.

They demand that she get on the ground while brandishing a baseball bat in her face while they steal the evening’s loot.

I wasn’t kidding when I said that I was truly afraid. Jodie stated during the scene filming.

“I want to avoid giving too much away.” However, there was glass all over the place, bats were involved, and it was extremely skillfully constructed and executed.

“Seeing someone break into your house, your personal space, and something you are actually there to protect and take care of is the worst feeling anyone can experience,” she continued.

“The two guys who carried it out were exceptionally talented, but their talents were misguided.” It was quite atmospheric, and they were really scary. The director, Jason Wingard, was exceptionally talented, and the entire production had a dramatic camera style.

She also disclosed that Glenda will endure silent suffering: Glenda won’t acknowledge her feelings. She’s trying to save face. I hope it brings to light the realities for those who have had similar situations and thought, “Ah, we’ll be fine, I’m fine, oh no, I’m completely fine.”

And after that, she has severe anxiety and breathing problems. Even though it is extremely simple to ignore, it has a profound impact on her.

“She feels as though she has let the team down completely.”
