Veteran Emmerdale actor Eric Pollard got into hot water on Monday night after he saw an interaction between Amit and an unidentified individual.
After Monday’s episode of ITV Emmerdale, viewers turned to social media to discuss their ideas and conjectures regarding Amit Sharma (Anil Goutam) and the unidentified woman he was speaking with regarding money.
In this dramatic episode, Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) chose to take a business trip to Leeds, which caused Tom King (James Chase) to become even more envious and domineering. It was evident that the veterinarian did not want Belle to go, even though he had told his wife he was fine with the trip.
As Amit chose to follow him, Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) made an effort to find out who the visitor was. After spotting Amit talking to an unknown woman, Eric nearly got exposed, but who might it be?
Amit remarked, “I thought I came to you,” to the unidentified woman, to which she answered, “What is your point? Are you concerned that I may discover where you reside? I apologize; the ship has sailed and I’ve taken a close look at things, so please stop claiming to be poor. Then proceed, where is it?”
“There’s a bit of a cash flow issue,” Amit continued, hesitating. But the woman shot back, not having any of it: “Does it seem like I’m Citizen’s Advice? Consider things from my perspective, please. If you were me, how would you respond?
Amit affirmed, “I am doing everything I can,” as the woman added, “Thank you, Amit, that’s really comforting. You have two days left. We’ll get together again, and this time I’ll bring a friend if I don’t hear good news.”
But as Eric crouched behind a truck, they heard his footsteps, cutting short their conversation.
The woman inquired, “What was that?” and although Amit was berating Eric, he replied, “Nothing.”
Amit confronted Eric in the cafe later in the episode, and they got into a furious argument. But the newcomer replied, “You’re making no sense, Eric, you’re raving,” in an attempt to infer that Eric was ill.
“Your thing…your disease must be reaching your brain, keep out of my business.”
Some fans speculated that Amit would have terrible news for Eric, while others wanted to know the identity of the unidentified woman Amit owed money to.
“Eric, Rodney, and Vinny need to be very careful when handling Amit,” a fan cautioned. In the event that something goes wrong, this might be highly harmful. #Emmerdale. (sic)
Another person speculated: “One thing I’m liking Eric, Rodney and Vinny teaming up to take down Amit.” (sic)
“Amit should take it from Eric right now. Pay attention to your ailment. And only make contact with people you believe Amit is con artists. #Emmerdale,” indicated a third.
“Amit knows Eric was spying on him doesn’t he I feel this isn’t going too end well for him #Emmerdale,” a fourth participant continued.
“I like seeing the older characters get some storylines and screen time, but Amit’s scheming and Pollard’s ego are going to end badly, and Amit will probably kill again at some point,” tweeted a fifth. #emmerdale. (sic)
Another person said, “Who’s Amit talking to?” while another said, “Who’s this?” Ex-MI5 Eric is hiding well enough to figure them out.”
