Coronation Street child star completely unrecognisable in major new TV role

Matilda Freeman, a former Coronation Street actress, appears entirely different in her new role on ITV’s Passenger.

The drama centers on Wunmi Mosaku’s character, former Met Police Detective Riya Ajunwa.

She is assigned the responsibility of looking into a string of peculiar crimes in Chadder Vale, a small village. As the strange and terrifying events transpire, such as the disappearance and reappearance of a girl 24 hours later, Riya will have to work hard to persuade the local villagers that something is not quite as it seems.

In addition to former Corrie stars Debbie Rush, Jack James Ryan, and Matilda Freeman, the cast of the show includes actors from The Bay including Daniel Ryan and Barry Sloane.

Debbie, who is best known for her character on the ITV soap opera Anna Windass, plays Terry Jackson in Passenger, Jack James Ryan, also known as Jacob Hay, plays John Trowbridge, and Matilda Freeman plays Lilly Wells.

Jack played Jacob Hay in 2021–2023, and Matilda’s most well-known role was Summer Spellman in 2017–2020, until Harriet Bibby assumed the part.

The actress recently shared some screenshots of herself in the role of Lilly on Instagram, and she doesn’t resemble the young Summer at all.

Matilda’s hair is now the color of copper. The images show Lilly sitting in her bedroom and lying next to another female character beneath some swings, in addition to a few behind-the-scenes photos.

Summer Spellman, on Coronation Street, is about to walk off the cobbles after taking a position at Boston University in the United States.

Summer first hesitated to accept the enormous offer because she didn’t want to part ways with Paul Foreman (Peter Ash), who suffers from motor neurone illness.

Summer consented to go, though, after Paul told her in a conversation that attending Boston University was an offer she couldn’t refuse.
