Given the likelihood of his additional crimes being revealed, Emmerdale’s Amit Sharma may finally face consequences for his involvement in his brother Rishi Sharma’s death on the ITV soap opera.
If Amit Sharma from Emmerdale doesn’t claim his next victim, he could be revealed this week.
Since he made strong indications that he killed his own brother Rishi Sharma last year, there are worries that he would kill another figure. Although he was present when Rishi passed away, his family still thinks it was all an unfortunate accident.
However, Amit has made strong indications that he should not be trifled with, even going so far as to imply that he killed his brother on purpose. After Rishi was eliminated in the summer of last year, Amit didn’t arrive in the village until much later.
Before his tragic and untimely death, Rishi had been on the show for more than ten years, during which time son Jai discovered that Amit was actually his biological father. Though Amit’s culpability remained hidden for months, how did Rishi die and why did Amit kill him?
At the foot of his home’s stairs, Rishi was discovered dead. It is thought that he had fallen and died quickly. It was therefore not long after Amit’s confession that he was present in the village on the day Rishi passed away that his son Suni realized he was present.
According to Amit, Rishi fell during a fight with his brother that was allegedly over Jai’s paternity. When Amit saw his brother was dead and realized how it would appear, he hurried out of the scene in fear.
Amit visited the village, but he did not reveal his whereabouts until several weeks later. Viewers now know that Rishi’s death was most likely not an accident, despite the fact that he had a difficult time persuading Jai of this after being exposed.
Amit and his lawyer Bill had recently discussed how convenient it was that Rishi had passed away at the same time when Amit and Bill were expected to inherit something. Amit appeared to be visiting his brother because, following the death of their uncle, both brothers were expected to receive thousands of pounds in bequests.
Although Amit believes that Rishi’s death was tragic, he sees it as a victory for himself because he would receive all of the inheritance money, which he hasn’t yet shared with Suni or Jai. Viewers could discern that Amit had a larger role in his brother’s death than he had admitted, as he was observed grinning when the topic of his brother’s unexpected and seemingly accidental death came up.
