Bethany sabotages a meal Daisy is preparing in a bid to get to the truth.
In Coronation Street, Bethany Platt discovers something that changes everything about her rival for love, Daisy Midgeley.
Ever since Daisy’s ex-boyfriend, Daniel Osbourne, and Bethany reconciled at the start of the year, the two women have had several run-ins.
The two have been making an effort to get along in recent weeks, but in later scenes, Bethany notices Daisy exiting Tim’s cab carrying a large number of shopping bags.
Daisy snarls that it’s all from the Alderley Edge charity stores, shocking Bethany who thinks she must have spent a fortune.
A curious Bethany notes that they should maintain a low profile when it comes to money as she overhears Jenny ripping a strip off Daisy for going on such a shopping spree.
After Tim admits that he picked Daisy up from the heart of Manchester, Bethany comes to the conclusion that she was lying.
Later, still wanting to improve her relationship with Daisy, Bethany tells Daniel she will call to see if she needs any assistance getting ready for their meal that evening.
In the Rovers, Bethany convinces Daisy, who is hesitant to help, to let her assist with the cooking. While Daisy is preoccupied, Bethany cranks up the oven for the apple pie.
When Daisy finds the apple pie burnt to a crisp, she leaves Bethany and Ryan to make dinner and goes to buy a replacement.
Jenny calls Ryan to the bar, and Bethany takes advantage of the moment to quickly grab something from her handbag, dig through drawers, and run out.
Intrigued, Bethany pulls Stephen’s journal from her backpack and leafs through it in the builder’s yard apartment.
Will Bethany discover the Rovers’ true nature?
Viewers of Coronation Street will recall that Daisy and Jenny took money out of Stephen’s account to repurchase the bar following his passing.
But in reality, the money had belonged to Carla Connor, who had withdrawn it from the bank account of the Underworld factory as the serial killer was organizing his getaway from Weatherfield.
Jenny had originally opposed Daisy’s plan to use Carla’s money to purchase the Rovers, but after a confrontation with the businesswoman on the cobblestones, she changed her mind and discovered that Underworld’s operations were once again proceeding as planned.
