A legendary character from ITV’s Coronation Street has left the show, and her last scenes have already shown. Kate Ford’s character Tracy Barlow, a legend of Coronation Street, has formally departed Weatherfield to start a new life in Spain.
During Tuesday night’s hour-long episode featuring former Weatherfield County actor Tommy Orpington as his lover, the florist departed the cobbles. Her retirement from the ITV soap opera legend occurs an astounding 47 years after her tragic birth.
“And I want it at the back of my cupboard in the new place,” Tracy said to her daughter Amy, who was portrayed by Elle Mulvaney. Moving away is a major deal. Steve and I are no longer together. That doesn’t mean I won’t miss every one of you, however.
“You’re right, look after my dad for me,” she said to Adam and Daniel. Abi was crying when Tracy said, “Don’t be such a drama queen; it’s not forever.” “Just take care of yourself,” Ken advised her. Amy added, “I always do,” to veteran Ken.
She then said to her daughter Amy, “I’m not going to get all emotional because as soon as we’re settled, I’m sending you a plane ticket.” She continued, saying, “I’m taking a punt darling,” as she said her daughter farewell with tears in her eyes. All I know is that.
“I adore you a lot.” Tracy had hoped for a “civil goodbye” with her husband, Simon Gregson’s Steve McDonald. Steve left Dev Alahan’s store on the street, looking defeated as she got into her cab and drove off.
Jimmy Harkishin’s character, Dev Alahan, was upset to hear that his friend was being taken advantage of once again earlier this week and declined to offer Steve a celebration drink. As Tommy drove her and Steve out of Weatherfield on Tuesday night, they exchanged a last look.
