Coronation Street’s Jude Riordan makes ‘bold’ claim as he shares cobbles family connection in update

The young actor, who plays Sam Blakeman in the ITV soap, has hinted he’s had a busy time on the set this past week

Jude Riordan, a star of Coronation Street, made a “bold” assertion when he disclosed that he is back working alongside his father on the cobbles. The young actor, who co-stars in the ITV serial opera as Sam Blakeman, has suggested that he’s been busy on set lately, but he was joined by a familiar figure.

The actor has previously disclosed that his father, Paul Riordan, is also employed in the television industry. When fans learned that Jude’s father was well-known for his behind-the-scenes work on several beloved programmes, they were first taken aback. Paul has carved out a prosperous career for himself as a television director.

He first gained recognition in a behind-the-scenes capacity on Hollyoaks. Later, he directed episodes of major soap operas including Emmerdale and Casualty. Additionally, he has sometimes been seen in Weatherfield during the last several years working with his son.

Jude’s 12-year-old son and dad Paul were seen grinning as they posed for a picture on the famous cobblestones in a snapshot that was posted on Jude’s Instagram account on Thursday. Jude’s parents keep an eye on his account.

With Preston’s Petals in the backdrop, the photo appears to have been shot near Audrey Roberts’ salon. Jude wrote beside the photo, “Another blockbuster with the Father @paulrio27 a busy couple of days!” More audacious decisions. Coming back to @coronationstreet with him next week.”

Among those reacting to the picture was former Hollyoaks actress Gemma Merna, who recently revealed that she would be appearing on Corrie as new character Rebecca for a guest spell. She wrote: “Amazing @paulrio27 best director there is for actors, so grateful for you”.

Additionally, Jude’s admirers and followers left comments on the post right away. It was mentioned by @janette.adair.31: “How lovely for you both.” Nancy Hovhanesian said, “This is fantastic.” Added by @lacey_findlow: “Love this.”

Jude, meanwhile, piqued the interest of his fans earlier this week when he posed for a picture with a few of his younger co-stars. Jude was spotted filming on the famous Corrie set with Bella Flanagan (Hope Stape), William Flanagan (Joseph Brown), and Billie Naylor (Ruby Dobbs). They were all dressed warmly in red jackets.

“Long busy day on the cobbles with this lot today,” he taunted. “LongGGGG is definitely the word for today lol loved it though and c’in u all,” Billie said, “Loadsa fun.”
