As Stu Carpenter (Bill Fellows) searches Coronation Street for clues to locate Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton), he will be savagely assaulted.

The chef of Speed Daal is about to get into a heated argument with a homeless guy who he thinks may know where Lauren is. Lauren vanished two months ago without explanation.

The disturbed teenager had resorted to producing explicit material for the subscription platform O-Vidz in order to assist with her mounting energy expenses.

She seemed to go after receiving threatening calls from an enigmatic lover and losing her job at Roy Cropper’s (David Neilson) café.

Even worse, when the good-hearted Roy cleaned her precinct apartment, he inadvertently disposed of evidence, putting himself in the criminal frame for her alleged murder.

Since then, people have cruelly attacked him, calling him a “creepy perv” and smashing a brick through the glass of his famed restaurant.

In a further turn of events, he was then besieged behind the counter by the far-right extremist associates of Lauren’s dad.

His niece Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) has been the target of many prank calls to the caff’s pay phone during the last week.

She informs Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) and Shona Platt (Julia Goulding) that they need to continue answering the phones because Roy is hoping Lauren’s mother would get in touch, although this is only going to happen in future scenes.

Stu informs girlfriend Yasmeen Metcalfe (Shelley King) and her granddaughter Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) that he plans to clear Roy’s reputation since he understands what it’s like to be falsely accused after reading deplorable remarks about his pal online.

Stu had previously served 27 years in prison for the murder of a coworker, even though his daughter was really the one who had done the killing.

He strikes up a conversation with a homeless guy at the station, asking him if he’s seen Lauren.

The guy assaults him, takes out his money, and picks up a brick.

When Yasmeen returns to the restaurant, he discovers that he was robbed and is horrified to see his wounded face.

Christian, the late wife Hayley’s son, has used to social media to criticize Roy, and this has hurt Roy.
