Tom has been using the adorable pooch as a new way to control wife Belle
EMMERDALE fans have been left distracted by a glaring blunder during heartbreaking Piper animal cruelty scenes.
Twisted vet Tom King introduced his wife Belle to cute dog Piper last month after its owner died.
While Belle initially didn’t want to keep the adorable pup, she had a change of heart following the ‘break-in’ at the couple’s home.
Belle has no idea that their husband Tom was behind the carnage after going on a jealous rampage before faking the robbery.
She has been left feeling unsafe as a consequence, and Tom brought Piper back to keep her company, as well as find a legitimate excuse to put a camera in the house to keep an eye on her when he’s not there.
Tom continued to exert his control over his shaken wife by driving a wedge between Belle and her friend Vinny Dingle after they took their dogs for a walk during Monday’s episode.
When Vinny’s back is turned while Belle is at work, Tom takes Piper, leaving her pal to think he lost the pooch.
In reality, Piper was safe and well at the vets with Tom, who watched Belle and Vinny clash at the house via the pup cam.
He then put Piper in one of the cages at the vet to keep her hidden.
During Wednesday’s episode, Tom reunited Belle with Piper, claiming she had found her soaked through by the river.
But Emmerdale fans pointed out a blunder on X – formerly Twitter – with one writing: “So there are 3 other vets beside Tom and none of them spotted Piper held in a cage there over the last few days, ok then.”
Another added: “So there are 3 other vets that could have walked in anytime. One lives next door and surely would have heard if Piper barked
“And how did Tom take Piper from the scrap yard when he was so busy at work? Nobody noticed he’d gone from the surgery.”
A third tweeted: “Please sack your writers or take the rest of the vets to Specsavers. How did no of them see the dog in the practice.”
Meanwhile a fourth shared: “Pity Paddy didn’t find him in the cage in the vets overnight.”
