Stars of Coronation Street on ITV have begged that a character be “protected” after a plotline left viewers “so upset.” After being accused of murder, Jude Riordan, who portrays Sam Blakeman, and David Nielsen, who plays Roy Cropper, posted a picture together.

Jude typed, “My BFF,” “#corrie #coronationstreet #roycropper #samblakeman #bff #protectroy.” One fan responded, saying, “This Roy plot is really upsetting me. I’m hoping it’s fixed quickly.” “Sam and Roy are such a great team,” another person said on Instagram. I like how Sam is concerned about Roy in the current plot.”

“Oh my goodness, the picture of you and David Neilson on the Coronation Street set is incredible. Well done, friend. Another person added, “You are still great and incredible as Sam Blakeman in Coronation Street, as always there as well.

Social media users who use Twitter or X responded when Roy was charged with Lauren’s murder on Friday night. An individual on Twitter/X typed: “#FreeRoy #Corrie.” “It’s really hard to watch Roy being persecuted in public,” remarked a second person who agreed.

“Plus DS Swain needs to do one #Corrie #CoronationStreet.” Another wrote: “It should conclude with Lauren returning and eloping with Ken, pavement woman being pursued, and Roy receiving a fair amount of discipline.” That ought to put everything into a tidy little box, #Corrie.” (sic)

Another person said, “There’s not enough evidence to charge Roy with Lauren’s “murder” #Corrie.” Another yelled, “I’m upset tonight because of Coronation Street.” #coronationstreet “Free Roy Cropper from the Coppers!” “There’s no way in hell that the CPS decides to prosecute,” another person said.

“egg on DS Swain’s countenance Egg, I say! Go well with some Elliott and Sons Gammon, bahhhh.” ITV Coronation Street is still shown on ITV and ITVX every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday night at 9 p.m.
