Coronation Street star’s ‘tears’ as they bid farewell to co-star after two years

The ITV soap’s Hope Stape actress was saying goodbye to Savannah Kunyo

After two years, Isabella Flanagan, a cast member of Coronation Street, said goodbye to her “best friend” and expressed her anguish. The Hope Stape actress from the ITV serial opera was said farewell to Savannah Kunyo, who debuted in the show in 2022 as Eliza Woodrow.

She was the grandchild of Stu Carpenter, who, after almost thirty years in jail, sought out to his daughter Bridget, Eliza’s mother, to help him get back on his feet after a period of homelessness.

After a mistaken conviction and a confession by Stu’s ex-girlfriend Lucy, the grandmother of Bridget and Eliza, to the murder of Charlie Walter, Stu (played by Bill Fellows) was cleared of all charges and released from prison.

Things seemed to be going well for Eliza after she moved in with Stu and Yasmeen Nazir in Weatherfield; however, in 2023, out of curiosity about her family, she contacted her biological father, Dom Everett, and since then, she has focused on fostering a relationship with him, much to Stu’s dismay.

As a result, she moved against Stu’s desires to live with her dad and away from the street. But Stu found out Dom had a hidden family after using a private investigator, so she made an arrangement with the father of her granddaughter for Dom to vanish and Eliza to live with him on the streets in return for £10,000.

But Dom couldn’t handle the guilt, so in early 2024 he returned the money, which is how Eliza learned about her family and went to see them. Since then, Eliza has made the decision to move to Hamburg to live with her father. On Wednesday, April 17, the ITV soap opera aired, Eliza was seen bidding farewell to her friends Sam Blakeman and Hope Stape, as well as to Yasmeen and Alya Nazir. Stu then accompanied her to the airport, where he will accompany her to Germany and assist with her transition.

After the scenes aired, Isabella, often known as Bella, paid homage to her friend and co-star, Savannah, by sharing a series of pictures and videos of the two of them on her parent-managed Instagram account.

“Now @savannah_and_paris has officially left the cobbles [crying emoji], one of my bestest friends I’ve made in all my time on corrie and so so sad to see you go, love you always Sav,” she kindly wrote. She went on to say: “PS: scroll to the end for my favourite video of all time x #hopedobbs #elizawoodrow #corrie #coronationstreet.”

Savannah replied right away, writing: “HAHAHA I really am going to miss all of my dearest friends, even though I laughed so hard at that video and used weeping emojis.”

It follows Jude Riordan, who portrays Sam Blakeman, who also sent a note to his leaving co-star along with some of his own behind-the-scenes photos. Actress Bella Flanagan, who plays Savannah in the television series Hope, was seen with the actor at the Salford set on the day of her farewell, clutching a basket of lovely flowers and a parting present.

Jude said kindly, “We really miss you. The finest moments were had by Savannah @savannah_and_paris. [Heart-shaped red emoticon] #elizawoodrow #samblakeman #hopestape #corrie #corriekids #amigos #3.” After that, Savannah replied to the message right away, saying, “Ah, miss you too. I had the greatest time I’ve ever had there with all of you.”
