Tom King from Emmerdale has been viciously controlling his wife Belle Dingle for months, and it looks like he could be going to start an affair to escalate things even further.
As Belle Dingle’s husband Tom King becomes cosy with Gabby Thomas, Emmerdale is likely to exacerbate tensions among the marriage.
When Tom and Belle got into a heated argument in the most recent episode, Belle was offended and clearly troubled by his obvious affection for Gabby. This is not shocking because Tom has been demeaning and making fun of her for months. He has also sowed doubts about her life decisions and professional advancement by making light of her respectability and family.
But it doesn’t end there. Throughout their relationship, Tom has demonstrated his tendency towards dominance and control. It has been clear that he is always trying to dominate Belle’s life, pull her away from her loved ones, and influence her. Attempts to remove Belle’s close buddy Vinny Dingle from her were unsuccessful.
Installing a monitoring programme on Belle’s phone and a surveillance camera in their home under the pretence of being “for their puppy” were two examples of Tom’s fixation with catching Belle. Vinno was almost caught by Tom while he was using this app when he suddenly struck him, knocking him out. Tom then changed his strategy and pretended to be his supporter, according to the Mirror.
Tom’s newfound protectiveness towards Vinny made Belle nervous, and she questions his intentions. Tom expresses in the most recent episode his desire for Vinny to find a girlfriend in order to spend less time with Belle.
He even goes so far as to accuse Belle of abandoning their cat Piper at home when he purposefully arranges events that exclude her. Unbeknownst to Belle, Tom had lately added security cameras to the house—not for safety, but to monitor her. This had nothing to do with the break-in that Tom had orchestrated.
In the most recent episode, Tom took the day off work to spend time with his friend Vinny, leaving Belle alone with the puppy all day. Belle seemed concerned about this. Upon discovering them in the bar, she learned that Gabby had joined their ‘lads only’ drinking group. Tom implied that Belle had him under strict control and that she may “drag him home” at that point, giving the impression that she was in charge.
He kept complimenting Gabby, something he never does with Belle; instead, he frequently calls her out. Belle saw as he pushed Belle to have a family while complimenting Gabby on her good looks, accomplishments, and early childbearing.
To Belle’s dismay, it was clear he was attempting to make her feel less than “amazing” Gabby. Belle looked disappointed, and Tom smiled, obviously wanting to make her feel inferior and envious. But in the midst of all of his comments and adoration for Gabby, might Tom go further? Could Tom end up having an affair with Gabby in order to harm Belle, given that he has called her “a knockout” and “a catch”?
