ITV Emmerdale’s Tom King takes vile swipe at Belle Dingle’s appearance in cruel gaslighting twist

Emmerdale’s Tom King took his abuse of wife Belle Dingle to new levels in the latest episode of the ITV soap, as he mocked her appearance and mental health in a cruel twist

The most recent journey to the Dales saw Tom King turn on his wife Belle Dingle with cruel comments, a clear increase in his violent conduct towards her, leaving Emmerdale viewers outraged.

His mistreatment of her took a serious turn when he started making hurtful comments about her appearance and making fun of her mental state as the ITV soap opera digs into a coercive control plot involving the pair. In the last episode, Tom increased his hostility and attempted to portray Belle as the one at blame, a day after purposefully damaging her self-esteem and trying to make her feel unworthy.

Thus far, Tom has attempted to separate Belle from her friends and family and has put pressure on her to resign from her position. Belle is being encouraged to remain at home and take care of their dog Piper by Tom, who is determined to control her life and deny her any freedom.

In an effort to make Belle feel less than him, Tom has also been pressuring her to have a baby while simultaneously making crude remarks about her and her family. However, as his manipulation and control tactics get more intense, he has finally succeeded in getting what he wanted by monitoring her with the help of the puppy cam, the new house security cameras, and the tracking software he downloaded on her phone.

As the suspenseful plot intensifies, it has come to light that he has switched up his methods of controlling Belle. He was spotted wildly flirting with Gabby Thomas in a previous show and raving about her amazing credentials in front of an already agitated Belle, according to the Mirror.

In addition, it seems he’s determined to make Belle the antagonist, implying she’s in charge and preventing him from moving forward. To make matters worse, he even began to use Gabby in his scheme to undermine Belle’s self-confidence, complimenting her on her accomplishments as a businesswoman and her sensible choice to have a kid at a young age.

In Friday’s episode, a rattled Belle confronted Tom about his behaviour with Gabby, which was making her nervous and even making her question why he had married her in the first place. Tom skillfully flipped the situation back on Belle, claiming that her nervousness was a symptom of an imaginary issue that she was inventing.

Strangely, despite his insistence that everything was OK, he couldn’t help but make subtle jabs at Belle, stating that Gabby had better style sense than she does and implying, albeit subtly, that his wife “could learn a few things from her”. His statement that Gabby “always looks great” was noticeably followed by a comparison of Gabby to a lady, calling Belle a mere girl.

When Belle brought up how he was making her feel inadequate, things reached a breaking point, and Tom lost it, yelling that his love would never be enough for her. Belle felt under pressure to change her attire in order to please him after he blamed her fears of destroying their happy day.

After telling her that she looked “fine” and growing irritated because getting dressed was taking too long, he made a disparaging remark about her attire, implying that something was up. He continued to make her feel uneasy by telling her that Gabby looked amazing before telling her that the fact that he married her instead of other females should mean something to her.

After that, things became so bad that he urged her to “stop whining,” that she should stop being nervous, and that she should never again discuss her emotions or her history with him since it was supposedly resolved. Then, telling her they had to go before she complained about anything more, he forcefully pulled her out the door to go to the fair.

One commenter expressed her ire at Belle by posting, “Did Tom really say to Belle about her dress sense?” “Shut up, Tom!” said someone else. A third person said, “I really want Tom to get exposed and get his comeuppance.”
