Coronation Street confirms return of ‘ruthless’ and sick paedophile in horrifying new storyline

In forthcoming scenes, Coronation Street will feature the return of twisted paedophile Nathan Curtis (Chris Harper), as the horrifying developments surrounding Lauren Bolton’s (Cait Fitton) abduction continue.

After grooming Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) over several months, Nathan was convicted of raping her in 2017.

When Bethany sees her abuser at the reconstruction of Lauren’s final known movements, she is completely taken aback because she believes him to be behind bars.

Afterwards, she finds out that he has been working on a neighboring construction site after being released from prison for a while.

After experiencing his abuse herself and seeing firsthand the way he treats young girls, Bethany quickly starts to wonder if he was involved in Lauren’s abduction.

Bethany, certain that Nathan is at fault, forces herself to face him in an effort to apprehend Lauren’s assailant.

Has she chosen the proper man, though? Is the true predator still at loose, given that Roy is in jail awaiting his murder trial and that Nathan is eager to show that he has changed as a person since his release? Or has the master manipulator Nathan gone back to his old tricks?

Actor Chris Harper discussed the significance of his former narrative on the program while talking about his return to the cobbles.

When I was informed that Nathan would make a comeback, I became quite emotional. Hundreds of individuals told me during the 18 months he was in it before how the plot related to something they or someone they loved had gone through. They still need to be considered as we move forward with Bethany’s story.

I express my gratitude once more to Barnardo’s, the NSPCC, S.H.E.UK, and all those who previously trusted me for their unwavering support. We have another opportunity to bring up a topic that impacts a great deal of lives but is frequently hidden in shame.

Chris said of the Nathan role, “I do love playing Nathan though.” In addition to being cunning and slick, he is also hilarious and vicious. He is currently under a lot of strain as well. There are so many twists and turns in this new plot.

“It feels great to be back on the sacred cobblestones.” Although a lot has happened since we last saw Nathan go to prison, Coronation Street never changes. The entire team, including the actors and crew, seems like old friends to me.
