Fans of Emmerdale have been worried about a dark turn for rookie Rose before a tragic plot point that would affect her estranged family.

Rose made her appearance last week, during which it was revealed that she is Dawn Taylor’s mother and the estranged ex-wife of Will Taylor. Rose disclosed that she and Will had been wed, and it was evident that she had left them when Dawn was either a newborn or a little child.
Rose reappeared on Monday night at Home Farm, insisting that Will’s wife Kim Tate allow her to speak with Dawn, even though Will had no desire to see her again. Dawn eventually made Rose’s acquaintance, but when Dawn demanded that Kim see their reunion, Rose became irritated. Dawn was certain that Rose and her estranged daughter would never have a connection, even though Rose was trying to reconcile their differences. Kim discreetly offered Rose two thousand pounds to go back to Spain and never come back, out of a desire to protect her family.
Rose refused to budge even when Kim kindly pointed her that there were worse alternatives available. At that point, Rose grudgingly agreed and seemed to be leaving Home Farm permanently. On Tuesday night, it became apparent, however, that Rose had not gone very far as she settled into The Woolpack and became friends with Kerry Wyatt.
Billy, Dawn, Will, and Kim were astonished to find Rose at the bar later, having assumed she had departed. Rose took great pleasure in informing everyone that Kim had bought her off to go, leaving Dawn heartbroken and shocked. Will was upset that Kim had paid Rose without notifying him later at Home Farm.
However, things took a turn for the worst when Dawn and her mother arrived home and Dawn told Rose that she had begged to remain with them until her arm healed. When Rose and Kim faced up again at the conclusion of the episode, Rose cautioned, saying, “You don’t enjoy losing, do you Kim? However, you lost today, and you will lose again if you approach me. I hope you enjoy welcoming a fox into your cute little henhouse.
Later in the week, however, when Dawn and Billy’s son Evan was taken to the hospital, the rivalling couple had more pressing concerns. Evan had to get a biopsy on Thursday’s episode, and the pair was informed that their kid either have leukaemia, an autoimmune condition, or an infection. When Will and Kim saw how bad Evan’s situation was, they headed straight to the hospital.
Rose, however, remained at home and seemed to be concerned about her family, but she quickly started drinking less wine. Later, Dawn called Lydia Dingle, who had taken over for Dawn’s two children, Clemmie and Lucas. Rose attempted to intervene, but the exchange was tense and it was obvious that the newcomer felt excluded and unwelcome.
Acute lymphoblastic leukaemia will be identified as Evan’s condition in later sequences. His parents’ world falls apart upon hearing the news, but the family comes together to support them, and Rose is undoubtedly there to support her daughter Dawn.
Viewers anticipate Rose’s redemption arc will include her helping the infant Evan when he is in need, which will result in her remaining in the community. Supporters have questioned whether Rose would be a suitable match for Evan and if he would need a donor for his therapy. Some viewers of soap operas, however, believe there will be a price and that Rose would ominously demand payment in order to assist Evan.
