Favourite Steve McDonald from Coronation Street had a terrible week of dates on the cobbles, but on Friday night, he met Demi, and his luck quickly turned around.
Supporters of Coronation Street are certain that Tracy Barlow will return in the near future.
Fans of soap operas will remember that last month, Tracy, the estranged wife of Steve McDonald, was spotted waving farewell to her family, which included her father Ken Barlow and daughter Amy Barlow. After finishing her drink at The Rovers, she hugged her loved ones and departed from the cobbles, perhaps permanently, to begin a new life in Spain with her partner Tommy Orpington.
In an apparent reference to her character Tracy’s new love interest Tommy, Tracy actor Kate Ford also turned to social media after her legendary figure appeared to emerge from the cobblestones. She posted a mysterious photo of public transit on her Instagram Story with the destination ‘Orpington’ written on the top.
Steve has been dating again on the cobbles this week, but the dates haven’t gone well. Steve was thrilled to receive three matches from a dating service earlier this week, and he met Carole at the Rovers on Wednesday. Steve was taken aback, though, to discover that she had brought three friends over in an attempt to get to know him better.
When Carole’s friend Aurora persuaded her married friend Tim Metcalfe to accompany him, things took a turn for the worst when Tim’s wife Sally Metcalfe arrived and angrily dragged him home. Steve was devastated to learn Carole didn’t think he was handsome and didn’t want to see him again, since he had been hoping for another date.
Steve was about to give up on dating on Friday’s show until he received a message from Demi. Steve assured his daughter Amy that Demi was the one while getting ready for their date, and the two hit it off right away at the Rovers. Following their enjoyable date, Steve and Demi decided to get together once again.
As one soap opera observer stated on social media, “I think Steve will get serious with Demi and then Tracy will come back after Tommy O either cheats on her, she gets bored, or he dumps her,” watchers are confident that just when Steve is moving on and happy, Tracy will return to cause havoc. “#Corrie #CoronationStreet @itvcorrie,” one person commented, and another said, “Is Tracy returning? #Corrie.
It coincides with Sharon Marshall’s prediction of Tracy’s return as This Morning’s soap expert, who said last week on the ITV chat programme, “I’m wondering… Tracy, you know, it was kind of a low-key way to go out for such a big figure in the middle of the week? Will she be making a return? Anyway, that’s what I’m wondering.”
