In order to become a first-time mother, Brooke Vincent left Coronation Street in 2019. Two years later, she had her second child. She admits the decision wasn’t simple, but she’s back at work now.
After having two kids, Brooke Vincent has talked candidly about the pain she went through in determining whether or not to go back to work.
After a remarkable 15 years as Sophie Webster on Coronation Street, the 31-year-old actress rose to fame. She acted the part from 2004 to 2019; nevertheless, she left the cobbles behind to become a mother to her first child, Mexx, who she welcomed with her partner, Kean Bryan.
Following the birth of their second son, Monroe, in May 2021, Brooke and Kean claim to have struggled with the decision to go back to work. The young mother admitted that she struggled to leave her two small boys at home and that she regretted not taking on more challenges and new employment to balance with being a mother.
The celebrity claims that in the end, she came to the conclusion that she couldn’t live a life filled with “what if,” and that this decision affected her decision to return to work. She said that having her family close by has made it easier for her to fulfil her ambition of being a working mother.
“It’s difficult to know what to do for the best when it comes to your career,” Brooke said in an interview with Fabulous. Would you like to be the stay-at-home mother? Would that imply that you would ponder about what you could have done all the time?
That’s kind of where I am right now and what I’m attempting to ascertain. I’m not sure whether I’m doing a very good job of figuring things out at this new level, but I’m still giving it my all. She claims that even though the boys are younger than five years old, they are both financially savvy enough to recognise her desire to retreat from the spotlight.
“The boys understand that we work to earn money so that we can enjoy nice family activities, like their football and karate lessons and vacations,” the mother stated. And since my partner’s ability with our youngsters has been crucial to my return to work, I will exclaim to the moon and back about how wonderful they are.”
She acknowledged, “I would never have been able to do something as demanding as this if I didn’t have that support at home.”
Prior to leaving the cobbles of Corrie, Brooke talked about why she had to take time off from the gruelling hours the show demands in order to welcome and raise her children. In a previous interview, she stated: “The challenging aspect about Corrie is that the hours aren’t typical nine to five, or you can’t work part-time, or you can’t start after 10am. I didn’t want it to interfere with my first child’s time with me. I believed that at the time, stepping away when I was able to was the best course of action for my family and me.
“Home will always be Corrie for me, but Corrie’s ongoing – it’s forever there,” she added. They don’t have a conclusion. Smaller tasks will thus be manageable for me because they have a beginning and an end date.
