Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson), who was divorced from wife Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) in Coronation Street, has had a difficult time finding love.
When dad Ken Barlow (William Roache) pulled ahead of him, his efforts at dating took a terrible turn, and he didn’t do much better at the Rovers’ speed dating night.
But when he signed up for a dating website and began corresponding with Demi Mansfield, things seemed to be improving. Nevertheless, their exchange quickly ended, and Steve moved on to other possibilities.
He was overjoyed when Demi contacted him again after their disastrous meeting with Carole, and the two finally got to meet in person.
Although Steve was enamoured, fans quickly identified Demi, and the reason for this is really coincidental.
