The charismatic cult leader Rowan Cunliffe (Emrhys Cooper) of Coronation Street has attracted Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) to The Institute.
She is going to abandon everything and go on a retreat in the next scenes, which will disappoint her fiancé Nick Tilsley (Ben Price).
The actor Ben Price said, “He’s gutted.” “I believe that’s when he realises that’s how things might turn out.” She will eventually pretend she’s discovered another life after withdrawing more and more.
Therefore, I believe that there may be a small part of him that believes this will not end well. He may also be a little envious of her refusal to spend time with him, in my opinion.
While Leanne is completely absorbed by Rowan and The Institute, Nick and Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) are not so fortunate, as Toyah chooses to do independent research in later scenes.
“[Nick] is of the opinion that there may be more to it, so he doesn’t mind Toyah investigating it,” Ben clarified.
Toyah is far more involved in it and certain that Leanne is being pulled into something negative, while Nick, in my opinion, is more caught in a difficult situation.
Being caught between his sister-in-law and his wife, he is attempting to balance his bets in both directions. Though he is concerned about Leanne and what Toyah is saying, he also recognises that she needs some space.
Leanne goes for the retreat over Toyah’s pleas not to, and when she forgets to say goodbye to her son Simon Barlow (Alex Bain), he spirals out of control.
Nick feels upset by this since Leanne isn’t there to console him.
“I believe Nick is irritated and has had enough.” He has always found Peter’s actions annoying.
“Simon put his son in danger because he is showing many of his dad’s character traits and believes he will become like him. Why should he have to pick up the pieces of that?”
“Sam, Nick’s own son, needs to be taken into consideration in all of this as well.”
