In forthcoming episodes of Coronation Street, Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) is gravely worried about her sister Leanne (Jane Danson).
Leanne recently became enchanted with the Altovalent Institute following her encounter with a prominent figure named Rowan Cunliffe (Emrhys Cooper).
Leanne was quickly drawn in by Rowan’s magnetic personality and was enthusiastically adopting the organization’s methods and principles. She has begun implementing one of the ideas, known as “reality coding,” in her daily life and attributes any achievements she has to it.
Rather of hard effort and effective marketing, reality coding is the only reason they obtain a big booking at the cafe.
Leanne appears to be delighted about this, but Toyah finds the whole thing unsettling because some of the concepts sound risky and almost cult-like.
She is unaware that Rowan secretly taped a conversation during which he urged Leanne to discuss some of the less respectable aspects of her history, such as her time spent working as a prostitute and the occasion she set fire to her own restaurant to obtain insurance.
His motivations are obviously dubious at best.
When Toyah discovers an online community for ex-members of the organisation, her concerns grow. Many unfavourable reports are coming from the forum members, who advise against trusting the Institute.
When Toyah tries to show her sister what she’s discovered, she learns that the posts have been removed “for legal reasons,” which just serves to heighten her suspicions.
Although Leanne tries to downplay her sister’s concerns, she becomes worried enough to call Rowan, who informs her that the critical tweets were authored by his irate ex-partner who is attempting to drag him into trouble. Then, delighted by his attention, he offers Leanne a tour of the Institute, and she accepts.
She meets Jared on this tour, a man who claims he can assist Simon (Alex Bain) with his food delivery software.
Toyah becomes suspicious when Simon informs her about this and adds that he needs to raise some money beforehand.
Toyah thinks she wants to conduct more investigation after growing increasingly concerned that Simon is falling for the same con that Leanne has fallen for. In this latest video, she finds Una, Rowan’s ex-girlfriend, over the phone and sets up a meeting.
She reveals that Toyah is concerned that her sister might be in danger because of her sister’s increased involvement with the Institute.
