Emmerdale star shuts down claims he is being k*lled off after 18 years amid death reports

Sam Hall, a star of Emmerdale, has refuted rumours that his character Samson Dingle may die off after eighteen years.

The 20-year-old actor, who is the fourth to play Samson Dingle, started the role at the age of five.

Ursula Holden-Gill, who played Samson’s mother Alice in the 2006 film, fought cancer throughout her pregnancy and postponed receiving chemotherapy until after giving birth.

Six months later, Sam Dingle (James Hooton) gave Alice a lethal dosage of morphine to help her die, but Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) took the fall for it in order to save baby Samson from losing both of his parents.

He became a parent in the last several years when he became pregnant with baby Esther with Amelia Spencer (Daisy Campbell).

Together, Samson and Amelia welcomed a daughter (Image: ITV).

A source seemed to confirm the character’s demise last month when they said, “Earlier this month, Sam met with bosses and they broke the news.”

He is in complete shock. His on-screen Dingle family has raised him, and they all take great care of him.

“A few members of the cast even went to speak with supervisors about their choice.”

Many Dingles were upset as word of his axing spread across the building.

“The fact that they are planning to kill him off means there’ll be no way back for him either,” the source said to The Sun. He is utterly devastated.

However, Sam Hall dispelled the accusations and said that he would be sharing “good stories” in a recent interview with Inside Soap magazine.

I don’t want to reveal too much, but Samson will be dealing with some serious issues soon. But don’t worry—he is most certainly not going to disappear! I was thrilled to see the scripts and knew he had some exciting things ahead of him.

Prior to Esther’s introduction, he had never handled a baby, and he quipped that he preferred to portray the more disturbed side of the job.

“I enjoy portraying Samson as cruel, but I believe his kindness always comes through.”

In the same way that the baby plot concerned him, he also expressed concern for Amelia’s well-being for Esther since Samson had clearly lost his mother and he didn’t want his child to grow up without a mother.

He may so get enraged, but ultimately, his objectives are always the correct ones. In the end, he was simply a young, bewildered adolescent who had no idea that he would be having a child so soon.

Furthermore, it was the first time I had ever held a newborn in real life!

Emmerdale has been contacted by Metro.co.uk for a statement.
