CORONATION Street fans have rumbled who could be Nathan Curtis’ attacker amid his shock beating on the show.

Fans have watched as the sinister character, played by Christopher Harper, has re-appeared on the cobbles amid the hunt for missing Lauren Bolton.

When Nathan first joined the cast, he was a part of a terrifying plot in which he groomed Bethany Platt and offered her up for sex with his friends.

When Bethany learned that her assailant had been released from prison and had obtained employment near to her home, she was appalled.

Because of his past transgressions and the fact that he was seen loitering close to the reconstruction of Lauren’s last known movements, she has also become fixated on the notion that he is to blame for her disappearance.

When Bethany brought the evidence to the police, they determined that Nathan had nothing to do with Lauren and that their entire relationship was via his subscription to her O-Vidz account, which is a site similar to OnlyFans.

In yesterday night’s episode, Nathan was still spotted grinning and working in Weatherfield, despite Daniel’s ultimatum for him to leave town.

But in a shocking turn of events, Nathan was subsequently assaulted by an unidentified attacker.

Nathan was in the bad books of Bethany’s uncle David and Ryan, his previous love interest, and he’d had run-ins with Gary and Daniel earlier in the day.

Nathan was seen to have been struck over the head by the hooded man in the scenes, and it was subsequently revealed that the hit was the reason Nathan was hospitalized.

Fans have already started to speculate about who they believe it may be, with many claiming that the hooded figure’s height revealed it.

Because of the person’s height and build, Coronation Street viewers claimed that it must be someone little, which sparked rumors that Gary and David were the most probable possibilities.

One fan expressed their thoughts online, writing: “[It’s] Someone small unless Nathan is a giant.”

Someone else said, “David was a little person!” in response.

Some made assumptions about Gary, but one person said, “Gary, I can see those skinny legs anywhere.”

While Ryan and Gary were both seen wearing hoodies that matched the attacker’s, David was found to have a large amount of blood on his pants after the incident.
