Next week’s Coronation Street promises to be quite dramatic thanks to many intriguing storylines on the ITV soap opera.
With Leanne Battersby having left for the institution, Rowan Cunliffe moves next, sizing up his next target for his cult. In another scene, Bernie Winter learns the truth at last about her long-lost son Christopher—a newbie Kit, as fans know.
Carla Connor discovers something that breaks her heart. Tyrone Dobbs and Abi Franklin both come to two frightening realisations, so she’s not the only one discovering anything startling.
One of the evil guys makes a second appearance, and there’s the reappearance of a murderer in one form or another. These are the main events that will transpire on the show next week.
Rowan’s next victim
Those who follow soap operas will remember that Rowan, the enigmatic newcomer, singled out Leanne Battersby for his “self-improvement group” The Institute. In Leanne’s hour of need, Rowan has also been yanking her away from her sister Toyah Battersby and lover Nick Tilsley.
Using his techniques and coaching her to talk aloud about elements of her life, Rowan has been helping Leanne open up about her history and the pain she has experienced. Unbeknownst to Leanne, Rowan was secretly recording everything she said. This was a shocking revelation. Viewers will naturally remember that Toyah has been worried about Leanne and has been quite dubious about Rowan; this week, however, Leanne is going to run away to see the institution in person.
In the moments that follow, Nick and Toyah are left in despair as Simon, who is obviously intoxicated, confesses he doesn’t remember anything from the day before. Meanwhile, Leanne disappears. Later, Nick tells Rowan about an event with Simon and how he wants to talk to Leanne right now. Nick is enraged by Rowan’s callous response. Shortly after, Rowan proposes to Simon that they have a conversation since he understands what it’s like to float aimlessly through life. Does he have a new objective?
A killer returns and there’s shocking news
Next week, Coronation Street will reveal startling information about a past villain on the ITV soap opera, along with a bombshell finding. Next Monday, three years after committing a terrible hate crime against Nina Lucas and her lover Seb Franklin, killer Corey Brent will make a kind of return. The horrific plot, which culminated in Seb’s death in many heartbreaking moments, left viewers reeling.
Because Corey disagreed with Nina’s goth status, he and his friends had chosen to target them. The ITV serial closely partnered with the foundation established in Sophie Lancaster’s honour, and the compelling plot paralleled the real-life murder of the actress in 2007.
Next week, Abi Franklin, Seb’s mother, and her husband Kevin Webster will be horrified by a revelation that has “rattled” him. When Abi switches on the television, she hears a hostess praising Corey for his football prowess.
Kevin has to admit that Corey is playing football for his jail team and that it’s being videotaped for a documentary, which makes Abi very ill. In the video, Corey is portrayed as a hero, making an irate Abi cry.
Together, Abi and Nina storm the TV firm in charge of the documentary, forcing their way into the producer’s office and demanding explanations for the footage that was shot. They wonder how murderer Corey is included at all and how well he is portrayed.
They seem to have spoken with the Gazette website shortly, and they soon get some encouraging news. They find solace in the encouraging remarks made by readers of the story on the internet, and they are happy to learn that a petition calling for the cancellation of the documentary has been begun.
It’s unclear whether it will be cancelled, and it’s unlikely that Corey will be back on the programme following this. But Abi’s friend Tyrone Dobbs is about to experience more drama when he opens an email at the garage where they work and reads what horrifies him. He informs Abi that he has some startling news, but what exactly has he discovered?
Carla left reeling
Next week, Carla Connor will be in some shocking moments on Coronation Street. In later scenes, after Peter Barlow’s departure last year, Carla is shocked by a devastating surprise, and as actor Alex Bain gets ready to leave the cobbles after 15 years, it seems like Simon Barlow’s leaving plot is “confirmed.”
Next week’s spoilers show what happens when a drunk Simon skips work, throws up in Tim Metcalfe’s cab, and runs away with the money. After the event, a hungover Simon wakes up and confesses he doesn’t recall much of the previous day. When Simon shows Carla some photos of the yacht, she is completely shocked to see one that depicts Peter in a tragic twist with his arm around a lady. Carla tells Sarah that she misses Peter.
Kit discovery shocks Bernie

After unintentionally meeting her hidden son on Monday night’s episode, Bernie is in disbelief when she eventually discovers him. The audience is aware that Bernie was looking for Zodiac, the kid she gave up over thirty years ago.
Bernie looked far and wide for someone with this name who would be the same age as her son, because his name had been changed to Christopher Green. Even when Kit said he wasn’t her son and that she had misidentified Christopher, viewers quickly realised he was lying.
Next week, teasers indicate that Kit and Bernie finally meet again, with Bernie still not knowing who Kit really is. But this time, she discovers something startling that completely alters her life.
