Coronation Street is getting off to a fast start next week with a special week of episodes, but don’t anticipate many laughs as tragedy, violence, danger, and criminality rule Weatherfield.

Roy faces imminent death
In what promises to be his worst jail experience to yet, David Neilson’s character Roy Cropper will be at the hands of a deadly terrorist named Griff. Roy is confronted by Griff, who has learned that Roy is the primary suspect in the death of his daughter Lauren, just as it seems that he will finally get his record cleaned and be able to go home.
Griff moves forward with a sword, and a scared Roy is unable to flee. Is the cherished Cafe King coming to an end?
Sarah’s drastic action
Now that the heinous paedophile Nathan is back in Weatherfield, Bethany is terrified once again and thinks about moving out of the Street in order to get away from her abuser. There is only one way to remove Nathan out of their life, but Sarah is having none of it and chooses to give up.
Without knowing whether Nathan is the murderer or not, Sarah arranges for his arrest by hiding evidence in his vehicle that puts him squarely in the frame for Lauren’s death. Her family reacts fearfully when they learn about the danger she has made.

Lauren’s killer revealed
Corrie is going big for a special week of late-night broadcasts that coincide with Britain’s Got Talent’s semi-final week. The format-breaking week would be “unlike anything the show has ever done before,” the bosses have promised the viewers.
It will go over the incidents that preceded Lauren’s disappearance once again and at last uncover the truth. Are you about to get the curveball of all curveballs, or have your beliefs been proven correct?

Leanne’s cult torment
Leanne is being gradually shaped into Rowan’s cult as she is drawn more and deeper into the shadowy realm of the Institute. Nick worries that Leanne and their relationship won’t be able to go back as she becomes more dependent on it.
Toyah performs some research since she is desperate to break Leanne free from their hold. She appears to be ready to strike back as soon as she has an idea, but she has no idea what she is getting herself into.
And things get more complex still, given Toyah and Nick’s growing closeness over their fears for Leanne…
Revenge porn trauma
Abi will have a breakdown after the release of a deepfaked sex video, especially because she becomes the subject of harsh remarks and rumours.
In addition, she is afraid of the person who is trying to harm her in such a vicious way. Abi feels that everything is crumbling around her, and she may have to confront her abuser soon. If not, things might become worse.
Paul’s sad decline
terminally sick Over the next several months, Paul will suffer as his Motor Neurone Disease causes him to sadly deteriorate. He can no longer eat and is hardly able to move or speak as things worsen.
Billy, the couple’s husband, is upset, but they decide to reaffirm their marriage vows as a way to bind their love. This will undoubtedly make everyone cry.
Will Paul reconsider his suicide plan as his quality of life continues to decline? And as the end approaches, will he seek Billy for assistance?
Simon says goodbye
Since his father Peter left Weatherfield, Simon has felt lost and aimless. He will soon have to make a significant choice on his future. We already know that after 15 years, Alex Bain is leaving the position, so his farewell will undoubtedly be poignant.
When he receives an offer, it seemed too wonderful to turn down.

We’re going to meet the grieving daughter of DS Lisa Swain, who is reeling from the death of her spouse. Carla may be a helpful ally in getting her daughter back on track now that she’s made friends with the investigator.
When their partner asks her out, a Weatherfield lady is taken aback, but is she really prepared to say yes?
And is it too late for Bernie to attempt to mend her connection with her son Kit?
