ITV Coronation Street Carla and Bobby’s lies unravel as Roy threatened in prison

Coronation Street’s Bobby Crawford told a huge lie in a bid to get Roy Cropper out of prison – but now it comes back to haunt him.

In forthcoming Coronation Street scenes, Bobby Crawford is arrested as his lies finally catch up with him.

To save Roy (David Neilson) from being prosecuted for the death of Lauren (Cait Fitton), Bobby (Jack Carroll) lies to DS Swain (Vicky Myers). He confirmed that it was not Roy that he spotted leaving Lauren’s apartment with a guy wearing a balaclava.

Bobby said that if he ever disclosed the truth about their conversation, the guy threatened to murder Lauren. He said to the police: “He looked down at me and said if I told anyone I saw him, anyone, then Lauren was dead.”

Despite her initial disapproval, Carla (Alison King) came to the conclusion that they had to take all necessary steps to rescue Roy. Roy soon found out about Bobby’s deceit, but he chose to remain silent.

At around the same moment, a jail guard found Roy down on his cell floor. He was taken to the hospital right away and was given visitors’ permission.

Carla paid him a visit in the hospital and expressed her gratitude for keeping their deception from the authorities. In the heartbreaking moments, Roy informed Carla that, in addition to the punishment he was facing for Lauren’s death, she had made him involved in the crime of lying to the police.

Carla was distraught when Roy said that he could no longer stand Carla’s dishonesty and broke off their connection. Carla cuts off the call when DS Swain questions her about why she and Roy had broken up in the ITV soap opera the next week.

When Carla overhears DS Swain rowing with her daughter on the phone, Carla offers an ear. Lisa explains her partner died and her daughter is struggling with her grief.

DS Swain confronts Roy when he pays him a visit in jail, asking directly whether Bobby’s testimony was influenced by their falling out. Meanwhile, Kit detains Nathan on suspicion of violating his sexual harm prevention order after looking through his vehicle and finding a few USB drives.

While Carla is being warned by DS Swain that Bobby’s falsehoods aren’t benefiting anybody, least of all Roy, Bobby is arrested across the Cobbles on suspicion of perverting the course of justice. Returning to jail, Griff (Michael Condron) storms Roy’s cell with a vengeance in hand.
