The solutions to the mystery surrounding Lauren Bolton’s (Cait Fitton) disappearance, which has occupied Coronation Street for almost the entire year, are almost at hand.
New photos of the group shooting intimate sequences seem to have further fueled the most popular fan speculation ahead of the big announcement.
Roy Cropper (David Neilson), who is now behind bars, is thought by the authorities to have murdered Lauren.
Furthermore, Nathan Curtis (Chris Harper) returned to Weatherfield just in time to be apprehended and elevated to the position of main suspect.
However, people seem to agree that Nathan is just a red herring and that Roy is completely innocent.
Where, then, have doubts been emerging?
Corrie viewers have been watching Joel Deering (Callum Lill), the new boyfriend of Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown), closely for a considerable amount of time.
The solicitor and I first crossed paths last year when Lauren destroyed Audrey Roberts’ (Sue Nicholls) salon and he had to step in to aid.
After that, he started dating Dee-Dee, albeit it was soon obvious that he was lying to her since he had a kid from a previous relationship.
He is already being somewhat lenient with the truth.
A few weeks before, Lauren’s pricey jewellery that her enigmatic older lover had given her vanished from view. Roy’s memories brought this to light.
Joel spent an astounding £300 on cufflinks in February. Alya Nazir (Sair Khan), upon seeing the receipt, informed Joel that he has “expensive taste.”
Umm.
An further hint surfaced when it seemed that Joel had given Dee-Dee a nearly similar arrangement of flowers, which Lauren had also received.
Actor Callum was recently sighted shooting on site at a bar that had been altered to seem deserted and boarded up.
Why would the lawyer, all suave and wearing a fine suit, be lingering around a run-down bar? What exactly is he concealing inside?
Naturally, thoughts must then drift to the likelihood that Lauren—dead or alive—might be present.
Viewers are already beginning to think that Joel is defending Nathan, a key suspect and paedophile, who is about to be arrested by police when Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) places evidence in his vehicle.
Joel promises to fight for Nathan, but will he really? Or does he maybe view this as a chance to make sure his client gets prosecuted for a crime he himself committed?
Although the parts seem to be fitting together well, this is obviously only one hypothesis.
This coming week’s key episodes of Coronation Street will reveal not just who is to blame for Lauren’s demise but also Roy’s destiny, as he will be pursued by a homicidal Griff who intends to kill him.
Regarding the groundbreaking episodes, ITV soap opera head Iain MacLeod exclaimed: ‘The storytelling this week on Coronation Street is so compelling that it’s unlike anything the show has ever done.
It’s contemporary, really thrilling, and has some of our favourite characters in the midst of the action.
We’ve all been gripped by the murder mystery surrounding Lauren, and this week’s race against time to solve it before Roy suffers a terrible injury is really compelling and well-written.
“It is also the beginning of a huge new chapter in that story, so if you want to keep trying to solve this exciting puzzle, you really won’t want to miss it!”
