As Coronation Street’s Abi Webster finds herself involved in a deep fake scandal, here’s a look at her life off-screen with her husband and co-star Joe Duttine
One of the most well-liked actors on Coronation Street, Sally Carman, will soon find herself and her character in a challenging circumstance.
When Abi discovers that her deepfake sex video has been posted to other websites, she is appalled. In the meanwhile, Cassie tells Kevin that she heard Abi setting up a meeting with Dean the drug dealer to give him money after seeing her fighting with him just before the sex tape was made public.
Abi confronts Dean and accuses him of producing the sex video while pointing a wrench at him. When Dean argues that he has no clue what she’s talking about, an enraged Abi doesn’t buy it.
When Kevin gets there, he tells Abi to put down the wrench. Abi finds out there have been four more films published while Dean is being questioned by the police. However, when Abi watches the video, she learns that none of them are real—they’re all elaborate ruses!
While ITV watchers see Abi’s downward slide in life, OK! examines actress Sally’s life away from the screen with co-star Joe.
After meeting Joe on set a year after Sally joined the Corrie cast, the two began dating. Sally claims that as they started sharing sweets, their affection grew over time.
After they were seen holding hands at a Coronation Street summer party, the public quickly assumed that they were something special. After a year of dating, Sally and Joe made the decision to live together in a little town close to Stockport.
The Corrie couple got engaged in 2020, just before the first lockdown started. Sally recalled the proposal on Kate Thornton’s podcast White Wine Question Time, saying: “We were living in the Dales with his sister, who has a lot of room, with his kids, and it was during lockdown.
“And he had just finished reading The Gallows Pole by Benjamin Meyers, which Shane Meadows is now adapting into a movie. He was talking nonstop about this bloody book for weeks on end, and it’s all about these currency forgers.”
And I’m like, ‘I’m delighted you’re like that book, but because you’ve told me everything that occurs in it, I won’t need to read it!'” He said, “Kids, have a look in between the dry stone walling because you know, they used to put coins and precious things to hide them in the walls,” while we were strolling about this large field.
“I’m looking around, and this box is there. I then unlocked it. “No way,” is how I feel. There was another box inside after that. When I turned to face him again, he was bowed.” With a double champagne toast, they shared their happy news on Instagram.
The Covid-19 guidelines put a temporary stop to their ideal winter wedding. In spite of this, they had a lavish wedding celebration on Friday, July 15, which included a touching kiss. Additionally, Sally welcomed her new position as Joe’s stepmother to her children, who are 12 and 14 years old.
Later on, the pair tweeted cute pictures from their trip of Italy, giving fans a peek of the joys of their honeymoon. With pictures from their vacation to the Mediterranean all over their Instagram account, the couple seems to be happily in love. One particularly notable photo of Joe was one that Sally shared on Instagram with the remark, “Husband.” Did you know that I recently tied the knot?”
