Fans of Emmerdale and Coronation Street have been warned to be wary of internet fraudsters.

After becoming the subject of an identity fraud, soap opera actors Lisa Riley (Mandy Dingle) and Daniel Brocklebank (Billy Mayhew) cautioned their Instagram fans to exercise caution.

“Please be mindful that scammers frequently impersonate Coronation Street and Emmerdale actors on social media platforms by setting up fake accounts on platforms like Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok, and Telegram,” the disclaimer reads in a recent tweet on Twitter/X.

As the creators of both shows, we believe it is our duty to alert viewers to the fact that this is occurring more regularly these days.

“Please report these fake accounts to the appropriate platform and exercise extreme caution when conversing on social media.”

Tonight at 6:30 p.m., the UEFA European Football Championship 2024 will begin, disrupting our favourite soap opera installments for a month.

The tournament is conducted every four years, although the coronavirus pandemic forced the last one to be held in 2021.

We are currently only aware of events taking place during the next two weeks since schedules are only released thus far in advance. There will be fifty-one matches in all.

First up, Australia plays France on Monday, July 17, and Scotland plays Germany in the host city of Munich.

The next time we check in with the people living in Weatherfield and Emmerdale is on Tuesday, the 18th, when each programme will run for an hour.

In the Dales, Matty (Ash Palmisciano) is visited by Amy (Natalie Ann Jamieson) and Moira Barton (Natalie J Robb) in jail after he was mistakenly imprisoned for stabbing Samson Dingle (Sam Hall).

On the Street, Leanne (Jane Danson) keeps cutting herself off from the outside world while Toyah Habeeb (Georgia Taylor) suffers on the day of baby Rose’s burial and turns to Nick (Ben Price) once again for solace.
