The actual identity of Willow, the CEO of The Institute, has been revealed to Coronation Street fans, and this puts Leanne Battersby in jeopardy.

Watchers of soap operas will remember that Rowan Cunliffe, a mystery newcomer, has been pursuing Leanne Battersby with his “self-improvement group,” The Institute. In Leanne’s hour of need, Rowan has also been yanking her away from her sister Toyah Battersby and lover Nick Tilsley.
Using his techniques and coaching her to talk aloud about elements of her life, Rowan has been helping Leanne open up about her history and the pain she has experienced. Unbeknownst to Leanne, Rowan was secretly recording everything she said. This was a shocking revelation. Viewers will naturally remember that Toyah has been quite dubious of Rowan and has shown worry about Leanne.
On Friday night, it was revealed that Rowan and The Institute had created an AI version of Leanne’s late son Oliver, who tragically passed away in 2020 after a battle with mitochondrial disease. In recent scenes, Leanne even left for a retreat with The Institute without even saying goodbye to some of her family. In a recent episode, Rowan used a video chat to introduce Leanne to Willow, the CEO of The Institute, in a hotel restaurant.
In a further twist, Rowan informed Leanne, who was flattered, that she would soon be allowed to bring in new members on her own. Nevertheless, since they believe they had discovered The Institute head Willow’s actual identity, viewers were sidetracked throughout the moments. Soap fans questioned if Willow was really an AI illusion on Twitter, now called X. “Is Willow AI? #corrie,” one user commented, while another account stated: “Is Willow AI? Another person said, “Oh Leanne, Willow is obviously AI generated. #Corrie.” A separate viewer said, “So Willow of the Institute is clearly an AI character #Corrie. You are now recruiting for Rowan’s cult.”
It happens just after Rowan actor Emrhys Cooper issued a warning that his persona may bring in more cobblers to The Institute. Actor Emrhys said in an interview with Inside Soap: “I believe he is on a mission to raise the necessary investment, however he can accomplish that, because he really wants to open another resource centre.” Additionally, he wants to “help” more individuals, thus he may be adding additional characters to the organisation.
Georgia Taylor, the actress of Toyah, hinted to Leanne’s demise lately as Rowan keeps severing her from her family and exhibits more concerning symptoms. “It’s going to be so good to play,” Georgia said while discussing Rowan’s reveal. “But I have to say, I’m loving working with Emrhys [Cooper, who plays Rowan],” she continued.
“They have a major standoff in a number of our recent sequences, and they are really good. All of his actions are subtle, subversive, and eerily disturbing at the same time. He’s a tremendous pleasure to work with on set, so I don’t want it to happen too quickly, but when he is escorted out, I want it to be a big, dramatic, and embarrassing moment.”
