This Thursday in Emmerdale, tensions erupted at Mill Cottage as Nicky Miligan confronted both of his parents, Ruby and Caleb, and the altercation resulted in an injury.
Nicky Miligan and his partner Suni Sharma are about to make a dramatic leave, and Emmerdale seems to have finally revealed the reason for his departure from the hamlet of the same name.
As the illegitimate son and grandson of Frank Tate, Lewis Cope’s attractive character was first shown to ITV audiences in 2022 when he teamed up with his father Caleb (played by Will Ash) in a plot to inherit Home Farm and the Tate family riches.
Nicky, a homosexual man, consented to seduce Gabby Thomas in order for the plan to succeed, but he was ultimately unable to marry her and chose to quit aiding his father in his scheme. Nicky then set off on a protracted atonement quest.
In recent sequences of the Yorkshire-based show, father and son have been on tenterhooks once again when Nicky’s mother, Ruby Fox-Miligan, intentionally ran over Ethan Anderson with her vehicle, allegedly resulting in the solicitor’s death in graphic scenes.
Nicky was relieved to learn that his mother, Beth Cordingly, had consented to hand herself in to the police and inform a distraught Charles Anderson of his son’s tragic demise.
Ruby didn’t cause Ethan’s death, however; last Thursday, as she was ready to reveal the truth, she learned that Ethan had really passed away from an aneurysm, much like his grandpa Victor Anderson before him.
Ruby went back to Mill Cottage. revealing the information to Caleb, who opposed her intention to call the police, whereupon Nicky finally confronted her.
Even after finding out the truth, Nicky was still upset that his mother wasn’t willing to act morally, and he vented his frustration on the con artist when Caleb begged him to stop criticising her.
Unwilling to wait for his father to hit him again, Nicky launched the initial blow before leaving the family house to meet up with his lover Suni, giving the impression that they would be departing shortly. This led to a full-fledged battle.
The graphic images left viewers speechless, and they flocked to X, also known as Twitter. “Nicky punching Caleb when I tell you I cheered NOW they gave him good stuff when he’s about to leave” , wrote one of them.
“No wonder Nicky is leaving,” said someone another, and “I don’t blame Nicky for wanting to leave that village and his horrible parents,” concurred a third.
“I don’t blame Nicky for being angry, she still knocked Ethan over with intent to kill!” said a spectator, expressing sympathy for Nicky. “Good to see that Nicky has had enough of his parents,” a fifth person said.
Nicky will be thinking a lot about the dispute in the next scenes since he has to tell Suni (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana) about the continuing hostilities in his family.
In an attempt to break free from his parents’ influence, Nicky will advise Suni to move away with him; but, because Suni reconciled with his family, particularly his half-brother Jai, last year, there’s little chance that he’ll be joining his other half. Is there going to be heartache?
