We’re still struggling to understand…
It’s safe to say that this week has seen some extremely strange events on soap operas, with Corrie, EastEnders, and Emmerdale all providing us with conversation starters.
While fans of the Walford soap opera EastEnders have been chatting about Debbie’s cosmetics, Emmerdale watchers have been talking about Caleb’s eating habits.
Here’s what happened this week in SoapLand that made absolutely no sense at all!
1. Debbie’s flawless makeup
Debbie continued to serve us with those looks even though she was in a coma.
The complexion of Reiss’s unconscious wife was GLOWING, and Easties fans were immediately jealous of her beauty regimen.
We will miss being in awe of her flawless foundation every day, even if we have no idea who was putting on her cosmetics while she was resting in that bed.
And this week, Debbie remained as still as possible while dying, maintaining her model-like appearance. With respect.
2. Caleb’s whole chicken feast
This week, following his questioning by the police over the fire at the vehicle sales site, Caleb was spotted having dinner with Ruby at the Woolpack in Emmerdale.
Nonetheless, his choice of dinner seemed a little strange. He was spotted gorging on a WHOLE chicken along with some fries.
This pub food scenario, with him tucking into the chicken with his knife and fork, was very funny. That must have been a very hungry day for Caleb!
3. Martin’s fake 40th birthday party
This week, Honey threw Martin a surprise birthday celebration on the Square in EastEnders to commemorate his big 4-0.
It was understandable that Martin was surprised by the festivities. In actuality, he’s just 39!
Even though Honey and company realized that Martin’s actual birthday wasn’t until the next year, they still chose to celebrate. Martin, poor thing, had to act forty the entire time!
4. Kim Tate’s B&B stay
Despite having nothing to do with the drink-spiking, Kim recently moved out of HER house at Home Farm and made the decision to remain at the B&B to avoid her family’s attention.
Viewers were treated to many glimpses of Kim lounging outside the B&B this week. She was having afternoon tea at times, and conversing with Lydia at other times.
How could Kim possibly give up the comforts of Home Farm for the neighborhood bed and breakfast? And then sit outdoors every day to draw attention to her situation?
5. Jack’s lack of stranger danger awareness
This week, when Abi and Kevin were out on the cobbles, Stefan Brent showed up at their house and pretended to be there to talk to Kev about renting a car.
Jack didn’t even ask for Stefan’s name—he just accepted his word for it. Jack was the one who left the home to get a fresh bottle of milk when Stefan saw that it wasn’t quite right.
Yes, he did simply let a stranger stay in his home and do whatever he pleased—in this case, robbing a burner phone. Who takes that action? Was Jack never taught the concept of “stranger danger”?
6. Rose’s hat choice
