Fans of Coronation Street are afraid of Joel Deering’s next move, so they’ve issued a warning. After the solicitor’s actual intentions were eventually revealed, only Lauren Bolton and fans of the ITV soap opera are aware of his full potential.

Corrie viewers weren’t sure whether to trust Joel when he originally moved to Weatherfield as Dee-Dee Bailey’s new love interest last year. And when it became clear that Lauren Bolton’s abrupt absence was caused by the actor who had abandoned her for dead, their instincts regarding the Calum Lill character were confirmed to be accurate.

He was proved to be Lauren’s hidden “boyfriend” in a flashback video that was released months after she vanished, but before that, viewers saw him viciously assault her with a chair leg.

Following that, Corrie viewers were left to wonder for months if Lauren had made it through the trauma, and it was proven that she had when she showed up at Roy’s hospital bedside following a heart attack.

But before the truth about their relationship prior to the shock attack was revealed, Joel seized her as she attempted to leave the hospital.

During their heated exchange, flashbacks showed that Joel had initially met Lauren at the police station while serving as the duty attorney. Later on, he made an offer to settle her debts and then kept offering her money and presents in exchange for having sex with her.

Joel snapped at Lauren the day she disappeared when she brought up his new fiancée, Dee-Dee Bailey. Joel departed, and Lauren pretended to be dead. She has been hiding ever since, running from hostel to hostel out of fear for her life. The teen’s current pregnancy with Joel’s child is the biggest shock of all.

Joel moved in with Dee-Dee ahead of their September wedding, and ever since she returned to Weatherfield, he has been lodging Lauren covertly at his former flat. Corrie watchers, however, were shocked to see that Joel’s intentions to bring Lauren to Ireland seemed to be a ruse; instead, he purchased pills and surreptitiously mixed them into some soup, causing her to go into labour early.

He had locked her in the flat, leaving Lauren alone and alone until friend Max Turner arrived to save her. Lauren was then transported to the hospital, where she gave birth to a son, age six months, at the hospital.

A distressed Lauren watched her newborn son lie in an incubator on Monday evenings (August 5) on Corrie, hoping that he would recover. Max and Bobby Crawford stood by her side, but as soon as they left, Joel showed there and introduced her to his newborn kid.

He wasted little time in revealing the solicitor’s true nature by tricking Lauren into removing an email she had written to Swain. He got her a new phone and tried to reason with her, which seemed to work when she allowed them to visit their kid before calling to inform him that the email had been removed.

Even though Joel had an emotional breakdown over his preterm baby, Corrie viewers are afraid of the lengths he would go to in order to hide the truth. The request came from @BSupport73: “Get away Joel from that baby now you better not do anything to it #Corrie.” “Dont leave the baby with his father whatever you do, Lauren #Corrie,” begged @DavidBoink. “Joel acting like he cares about Lauren’s baby,” @RyanTheSoapking continued. He wouldn’t have poisoned Lauren in an attempt to murder her child, #Corrie, if he had cared.”

Actor Calum Lill has been hinting at Joel’s willingness to go to great lengths to maintain his secret, and it has even worried him. He stated: “It’s further than I anticipated he would go, but of course I can’t say how much. It was so gloomy when I read it that I was afraid to even play it! He is willing to go to whatever extent necessary.”
