As her cult plot in Coronation Street progresses, Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) eventually finds herself the recipient of some surprising news.
Leanne first met Rowan (Emryhs Cooper) earlier this year. Rowan identified himself as the head of a self-help organisation named The Institute.
Leanne was sucked into the gang by Rowan’s charm and cunning, and she hasn’t left. She thinks the group is incredibly helpful to trauma survivors, but people like Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) and Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) are aware that it’s a dishonest industry.
Leanne has been focussing on hiring a new employee in recent weeks. Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney), a bright young lady who has also gone through a lot in the last several years, was the person she chose.
Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain) asks Leanne in this new video who Amy is talking to in a booth as he first walks into the Bistro.
The character, who had earlier expressed interest in using the money Deirdre Barlow provided her for The Institute, is speaking with a financial advisor.
Leanne gets a call as she’s about to get Aadi something to drink.
Nick is on the line. He is in the hospital, helping Toyah after she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
Nick tells Leanne what the consultant has to say, and her expression falls with concern.
Although Rowan commends Leanne for prioritising her personal needs during this conversation, she later tells him that she has to visit Toyah and doesn’t have time to discuss about The Institute, which makes Rowan fearful that he is losing control of her.
However, what has become of her?
